To me, this is one of Tom Hanks' better movies. It's entertaining from start to finish with (mostly) likeable characters, has some pretty funny and quotable dialog, and a great soundtrack- personally, I never tire of hearing the title song! Of course, as a non-musician I have no clue as to whether a (literal) garage band could rocket from obscurity to a top ten hit to implosion within the span of a few months, but with a movie this fun, it really doesn't matter. Any other fans out there want to share your thoughts?

I enjoyed both the original theater version and the directors cut. A story about those one hit on-needers that really had never been told. How a band of some nominal talent could be launched into stardom, chewed up, and forgotten in a matter of months.
Liv Tyler A great pop tune that can be heard over and over without getting irritating Enjoyable characters Nostalgia for a simpler time Liv Tyler

TTYD is a wonderfully made 60s movie. I like everything about it, my only complaint is that the production on the song 'TTYD" was too modern. The drums were recorded and mixed too "big", and airy for lack of a better word. Its obvious they mic'd every drum and, EQ'd, limited, added revered, sonic maximers, the works. In 1964, they would have put up a couple of overhead mics, over the set and that would have been the drum sound.
I'm waiting for the "devolution" BluRay version. The one where they deconstruct the music to actually sound like 1964, fix the drums, take all of that s**t off, etc.
That's it. Just pulling your chain Myke. There have certainly been a lot of threads on this movie. Probably because this movie is right up most forum member's alley.
Adam Schlesinger wrote the title tune. He's half of the songwriting talent in Fountains Of Wayne, who often sound pretty retro as well.
