Yeah, ok, maybe. Bowie was influenced by a lot of artists and I'm stating the obvious here, that Egon Schiele had a MASSIVE IMPACT on 20th century pop culture.

This is a great thread! The cover of Bruce Cockburn's 1973 album "Night Vision"
is based on the 1954 painting "Horse and Train" by Alex Colville.

Uriah Heep's Conquest release is obviously the flag raising at Iwo Jima. Also wondered where the artwork from Whitesnake's Saints and Sinner may have originated.

The cover of Elton's Blue Moves was a painting, not sure if it's a famous one or not.

It was a color cartoon that Roger Glover saw in the New Yorker, and thought it was an interesting idea to develop. The cover drawing is by Tom Swick.

    The White Stripes' De Stijl.

This artwork is closer to Theo van Doesburg IMO, an unknown band for me, what you recommend?

Here's one I like a lot from the mid 90s by Rachel's, Music for Egon Schiele, which was composed as the score for a theatrical production, but is an amazing record on its own ... not sure if the cover art is by Schiele, or inspired by ...
