    When does this come back?

Still hate that they split this in two. What a joke.

I believe the last seven episodes begin airing in April.

Funny Roger had all those heart issues in the beginning and he has continued drinking and smoking.

I would think Don jumping off the building would be best way to end the show.

That's too on the nose and obvious.

Jon Hamm has already confirmed in a new interview that Don and Peggy are both alive at the end of the series.

I almost don't care - Don's frozen in time .....it'll go nowhere and fizzle out - it all meant nothing.

MAD MEN will go. It will vanish and shrink. Alanb needn't argue about that; he's right and he'll be proved right. He's more popular than Lou Avery now; I don't know which will go first—this forum or MAD MEN. Don Draper was all right but his creatives were thick and ordinary. It's them twisting it that ruins it for him.

I just started re-watching from the beginning. It's been fun to watch... there's plenty of storylines that I completely forgot about. But what struck me is that everything you need to know about Don (and Betty) is explained in the first season. We've been watching a man who doesn't learn and is falling into an abyss. I'm not sure if he can be saved at this point. I think the resolution will have to include Sally as a major figure in Don's demise or rebirth.

Saw pictures of my grandfather in 1970 and by the way he dressed he sort of looked like Roger Sterling with a goatee back then.

Well, the fact that he's driving and all the sunlight immediately make me think California/Los Angeles. But that in and of itself is not really significant I guess.

  20. Reminds me of The Brady Bunch opening.

  21. Nah, too many skyscrapers. Especially circa 1970.

Eh, there's a couple of very specific blocks he could be on in downtown Los Angeles at that time for it to be accurate, but you're right it does make you wonder.

First thing that popped into my head is that Don is driving away from the city - NYC.

  24. I, for one, would be bummed if any of the last episodes took place in 1970. I've been thinking about this since season 5, at least.

I mean, if the last episode took place in 1970, as a closer, cool; but the years (the 1960s) were just as big of a character as any of the cast members. Jumping to the '70s would be akin to changing horses right at the finish line. You leave with the dame you brought to the dance. It's the whole 1960s esthetics that is/was a major draw.

I'm afraid. This is my second favorite show of all-time. So, I'm afraid.

It depends on how Weiner handles it. The 1960s could still be a major character, even if it's set in 1970. Comparisons, contrasts, the withering away.... it's not like life suddenly changes on January 1! :)
