    I see. I like his virtuosity and intensity, but his thin sound, which early digital PCM didn't help, is not appealing. I mainly bought it for Argerich's accompaniment, but I don't think her playing can overcome his tone!

    :agree: I have never finished listening to a box of 50+ CD's so fast - in a week. What a great pianist and having watched the following DVD twofer has definitely enhanced the listening experience ...

    I bought it based on reviews. I like it. It is the only Mahler 7 I own so I don't know how it stacks up against other performances but I always enjoy listening to it.

    I have her 2002 recording with Mazur and the New York Phil. I might have heard the Karajan years ago, but I don't remember.
