Ordered new from i-Deals, formerly known as blowitoutahere, I think. Their corrugated cardboard mailers are crude but effective. The disc is kinda expensive -- yeah I know it's Harmonia Mundi SACD -- but money's tight for me right now. Yes, I hope I like it, thanks.

One of my friends thinks that this is one of the best recordings of Liszt's B minor sonata so I had to order it to hear for myself.

That is probably the ONLY Goldberg Variations performed on non-traditional instruments I will bother to keep ...

Freiburger Barockorchester is the fast-track ensemble. The players have super-fast tempos and often too fast for my taste ...

Was that a real swan at the foot of the piano or was it some decoration?:winkgrin:

That is a tall order considering the competition. Let us know what you think after you hear it. :)

My musical birthday present, the Mode DVD of Iannis Xenakis - Volume 5 - La Légende d'Eer:

"The performance of La Légende d'Eer is shown with a film by Bruno Rastoin,
comprised of 350 stills made during the original performance of the work at the
"Diatope". This is the ONLY visual documentation made of the historic event."

My friend Allen got me this knowing this is a full surround mix. Not for everyday listening, but still some of my favorite "Classical" music of the 20th century.

Due to a system snafu, I bought the following box from blowitoutahere for $1 plus shipping some two years ago. I was not greedy as I only placed that single order, though I heard some guy placed 10 or 20 of the grossly mispriced boxes at $1 each ...

Now playing CD48 from the following box for a first listen - 12 more CD's to go and it has taken me almost five years to get through the first pass ... LOL

This box was really a collaboration between Harnoncourt and Leonhardt over thirty plus years. Somehow, I consistently like the cantatas conducted by Leonhardt better ...

This is my first exposure to Roman's music, and I like it very much. His keyboard music is less predictable and more kaleidoscopic in range than Scarlatti's to my ears. Absolutely superb playing and sound.
