Better be building a doghouse while you're enjoying the Heresy and the Fischer 400! ;)

  2. I acquired Nipper (he's not just any dog) about 20 years ago at an antique mall in Pasadena for $40.

Nice Dual TT ... 1219, or close? I've had my 1219 45 years (yes - 45), and still love it. ( refurbished 2 yrs ago)

I agree .... "vintage" starts from the 60s back.

My living room system that just barely gets my wife's approval. Inside the cabinet is an Audiomat Arpege integrated. Above is an Analog Engineering Empire TT. Speakers are Trenner and Friedl Pharoah's. They're designed to be up against a wall, which is a necessity in our living room. The sound is robust and fills the air, which is another must as I have no real sweet spot to sit in. I previously had Audio Note K's in this room which had much of the same characteristics but were a tad small.

Thanks I like them too! Unfortunately 7 of 16 corners were damaged by FedEx. I did manage to get a few bucks from them but I'm having trouble finding a skilled furniture restorer that's interested in repairing them. As long as I keep the lights low they look great. :)

To me, the beginning of the "silver faceplate" era is the end of the "vintage era".

Yeah it's the foot of my bed. I'm single, so yes it's great, all alone but great.

Love the look of the Tanner and Friedel speakers, I use AN-K speakers myself and was interested to see you said they had similar sounding characteristics

They sound the same in the sense that they both seem to pressurize the room and just fill the sound with air. I've owned plenty of speakers that are sweet spot only, and to me that just doesn't work in many living rooms. I'm kind of forced to sit on one side and face perpendicular to the speakers, which I've also read is Peter Qvortrup's preferred listening spot.

Been working on this garage conversion for a few months and it's finally done (for the most part). My setup in here is...

Clearaudio Concept w/ Clearaudio Artist V2 Cartridge
Graham Slee Era Gold V Phono
    Marantz PM6005 Integrated
EPOS Epic 2 Speakers (these are being sent back, due to a funny rattle in one of them - thinking I'm going to go with the Wharfedale Denton's as they're sold out of the Epic 2's)
