They're the least-sexy thing in all of audiophilia but DAMN do they make a BIG difference!

    Not exactly.
They are just some cardboard tubes I had laying around. They are empty and likely doing nothing for the sound. There's a baseboard heater on the floor so I can't get too much down there. I could use a tube about 8-10" in diameter if and when I do any additional treatment. Maybe I'll just stuff these tubes with Roxul Safe n Sound from Home Depot.

Nice. How has low-level listening changed?

Low level listening is better as things sound more defined, clearer, more detailed. My wife commented that she could tell a difference in acoustics just talking in the room.

Thanks! Yes it is a pleasure to sit & listen in here.

The Vicoustic panels were the finishing touch. They are great because not only do they deaden the room nicely, people have no idea that they are audio related and think they are wall art of some kind. I always get comments from new visitors on how nice they look. I'm not sure exactly how effective the panels are behind the speakers but the ones behind the listening position made a major difference. I also have them set up so they are easily movable with a velcro system, in fact there is a light switch behind one of them and I just quickly peel the panel off & on to use it :)

    Thanks!

I'm pretty much in love with the M6 500i, it just handles everything with ease and is a great match for the 803 Diamonds. I'm a great believer in having plenty of headroom - both on amps and recordings :D

I would describe my sound as perhaps on the warmer side of neutral once I got the speakers in the right position and the room treatments in. In fact I've had a few comments that it sounds "vinyl like" despite the all digital front end. Personally, I think it depends on the source material.

The M1 HPA is fine, I pair it with a set of HD650 cans. I don't really use it much these days so I am not looking at any alternatives.

Nice! I haven't been able to hear a DNA amp yet. I hope to get to hear one sometime. I'm very curious to experience what his amps sound like.

Just about to have to wave goodbye to this room. House is under contract (not unconditional yet), and I have no idea where we will buy next. I have a horrible feeling I won't get as good a setup as I have here :shake:

The hound likes to sneak past the speakers and stick her head behind the curtains to see what is going on in the street. She was just on her way back from doing so...

I feel your pain, I have to tear everything down soon to replace some windows and each time I listen now it feels a bit odd. Good luck with the move. The real reason for posting is I love the LP cover on the easel. I assume that is an LP cover, it might be an optical illusion though as it looks extra wide. Again nice pic and give the pooch a rub on the head for me.
