There's a better close-up pic of what is described as 'Grace's cheap Japanese copy guitar' (in Cream Puff War mag #1)
and it has the same pickup configuration as a Strat, but looks like a cross between a Strat & a Telecaster. I always thought it was strange that Grace & Darby Slick played such cheap guitars; they were both from wealthy families.

Well, I don't have that to look at. I would have thought cheap Japanese knock-offs of Fenders would be a bit rare at that time, but I guess not. The cheap knock-off would probably be a nice collectable now.

Yeah, you're right; Teisco guitars that retailed for $29.99 at Woolworths in the '60's go for hundreds today.
    Found that pic:

Thanks. Wow. That's a puzzler. Bridge is quite different, among other differences. Interesting.

Some of you may know that I was the recording engineer of Woodstock, Teach Your Children, Our House and Helpless by Crosby, Stills Nash & Young. Those busy sessions at Wally Heider's studio C in San Francisco in 1969 were also social affairs, at times with members of the Jefferson Airplane and others in attendance. I won’t forget the image of Grace Slick observing the proceedings. She was perched on a stool next to me in the control room with the light reflecting off her like a film star.
