Thanks, sounds like you're about to go through similar In answer to your question, yes that is the LP cover. Got to put it somewhere while listening. Easel cost about four bucks from an art supplies shop.
Cool, I remember your thread when it first arrived. Nice to know we've actually got someone locally (well, with Australia anyway) like Earle, that wants to take the time to craft something special. And yeah, good luck with the move and I hope you're handling the hi-fi move yourself !
Thank you. The Luxman is an extraordinary CD player. Better than any I've owned or heard right up to the $2350 that the Line Magnetic 515 costs. The 515 edges it just a bit. Though there are things that the Lux does better, overall the 515 has the edge. To my ears the Lux absolutely embarrases the Marantz SA8005, Rega Apollo-R and Naim Cd5si.
Thanks! I have updated my profile info, so it's all there in the information tab: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/members/skateaway.55795/
Some great stuff here. A small request for us noobs who don't know every piece of gear by sight. Is it possible for people posting pictures to list the gear.
Look at the member's profile and it should be filled out... Of course around here many members have multiple systems so that may not be much help!
My profile is up to date (I think), but: Exclusive P10 turntable (currently with a Benz Glider SM mounted) PS Audio GCPH phono stage (which I want to change to something tubed) Weston Acoustics Topaz KT120 amplifier WLM La Scala loudspeakers (which I want to keep, but may have to change if I buy a house without a room large enough to let them work) Other stuff: Crappy Pioneer DVD player, after my CD player died, I really should buy a DAC. Sony ST-SB920 tuner, for listening to ABC Classics Audrey Hound
I don't see how stuffing cardboard tubes will make a difference. Soundwaves can't penetrate cardboard.
Here's my current setup. In the process of moving so this will be my before picture for posterity and in a few weeks I can post a shot from the new place.. Excited to get the McIntosh speakers hooked up once we move since right now they are just hanging out in the sidelines.
Guess it's time to post a pic of my system here. It's nothing fancy and probably not set up the best it can be but I have to make do with the space I have.
Nice, I'm not the only one with an opening between my speakers I gotta say though, that turntable would probably do better NOT placed in the corner like that...
