Oh oh! I have mis-represented myself as owning the SACD of this disc. I apologize for that. I have only the regular CD. :(

All wonderful performances, the "Pastorale" sonata particularly so.

This is one of those times, stuck at a mall where my wife is clothes shopping. Yawn....

I miss brick and mortar book and record stores!

Sony is Columbia & RCA. The Bach collection should be contained in the new one, abet in the originally released album forms.

Most recent to a Brick 'n' Mortar Record/Book store [Rasputin's] was to get the Blu-Ray of Inherent Vice, which they didn't have yet. Somehow related to purchasing Pynchon, a sealed new copy of "Smile" by the Beach Boys, a Brother's records compilation of Beach Boys as a two record set and at 25¢ a pop, a CD of Chanticleer singing Palestrina and the Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares volume 2 CD on Nonesuch. Will make the claim that the Radio/Television Chorus of Bulgaria is really more 'classical' than folk, involving complex choral arrangements of pre-existing folk song. Will also claim that "Our Prayer" and "Wonderful" are as close as Brian Wilson ever gets to being a 'Classical" composer. Haven't heard that "Mystery Girls" CD in a long time, amazing music:

Now spinning on the platter the following LP from my Schubert collection. This warped record is testing the tracking capability of the tonearm on my DUAL CS-750 ...

So this makes the CD version DDD.

I remember when that came out; it was, I think, the first such "nubile underclad female violinist in a suggestive pose" cover, and despite much critical tutting it started a trend. Didn't do L. St.-J.'s career any good, as far as I can tell. After that, I don't think anyone took her very seriously.

She is not in the same league as Julia Fischer, etc and there are better Canadian violinists ...

Looks like I should have it in my collection according to my computer. It is not unusual since I do have a pretty massive collection of JS Bach recordings ...

Forgot I had this in my collection purchased w/hole drill in corner. Enjoyed it this AM but was surprised at the short length, 37 minutes or so.

Yes, unexpected that a Four Seasons CD wouldn't have something else on it.

The short length probably has something to do with the recording being originally released in the SACD format ...

The version by Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert has set the gold standard, which is my favorite version.
