I'm waiting for news of new recordings, archive release(s), or tour dates. Anything happening on the horizon?

Same here. Nothing on the horizon, as of yet. I still have faith in the Buttholes, though!

    You're welcome!

Good news is that Paul Leary of the Butthole Surfers is currently mixing the new Honky album (Jeffrey Pinkus - bassist of the Butthole Surfers) and that Pinkus is currently touring with Melvins!

All we need is a new album or rarities collection!

I'd be down for a few 86-89 compleat live shows, or comprehensive 'from the vaults' set. Didn't Fort say, long ago, that there were, piles of out takes and unreleased material. Man I hope someone is working on that stuff!

Or a new album...that would be swell too.

I'm just hoping for the best. I wish Gibby was more into recording a new Buttholes album!

I collected them in the 80's but sold most of my vinyl long ago and never replaced their stuff on CD.

I thought Gibby was down with recording and that Paul was the hold-out. Butt this info is probably 5 years old or more.

It's actually the other way around. I'm in contact with Paul and he told me so.

I'm hoping for a couple of studio box sets with ten CDS of unreleased studio material on them each and also a few live box sets.

    The possibilities are endless!

I have three or four albums, When I was a teenager still living at home my father particularly hated "Locust Abortion Technician", threatening all kinds of violence and mayhem if I didn't "turn that sh!t off".

R.I.P. Dad, will crack a beer and play Kuntz just for you.

    Locust was my favorite.
Dad's problem was that he was not familiar with Sweet Leaf. ;)

What we also need is a DVD of the Butthole Surfers playing live at the two Variety Arts Centers shows from April and November of 1987!!

Agreed, any Butthole Surfers on DVD would be awesome. When is the new Honky supposed to come out?

So, Independent Worm Saloon is coming out on vinyl again, 180 gram. This is just going to be 1 LP? If memory serves me correctly, wasn't this over an hour long? Seems to me 2 LP's would have made a lot more sense. Then they could have added the three bonus tracks from the Japanese CD release. I'm definitely going to wait until I see some feedback on the quality of this one.

Yeah! It's a US pressing since the original LP never came out on vinyl in the US (I had a UK LP with free 12-inch version, though, in the 90's). I collect the Buttholes so I am definitely grabbing it soon!

It's on the Plain label which is hit or miss, actually more misses than hits. Lots of complaints on their sonic qualities.
