This was my first ever album. I bought it because my next door neighbour had it if I'm honest. I still loved it though!

LOL! It's like a parody of hard rock. I love it for all the wrong reasons. It's entertainingly bad. Donny is riotous!

Having said that, he is criminally underrated as a vocalist.

Phase III, Crazy Horses & The Plan are a great trio of albums. The Crazy Horses LP is a 5 star album in my book. Merrill has a great pop/rock voice and was a beast on the bass.

I never had any interest in the Osmond Brothers. But I sure thought Marie was cute.

One of my favorites on Phase III is 'Don't Panic'
My first name is mentioned in the fade.
    Got this last year.

My fave interview with Donny. He really opens up for this one.

Just because you do doesn't make it good. Did you really even need to make that comment? It didn't need to be said any more than mine did. We get it. You love it. Who cares what we think in that case, right? ;)

I also love that the video shows a vacant drum set. I know it's a lip sync job but why not bring in someone to at least mime?

Before The Beatles, before Led Zeppelin, before Black Sabbath and before Alice Cooper there was...

I remember this cute girl from first or second grade who brought the album in to play during our recess period. And they call it Puppy Love....

Should hit YouTube for a listen.

'Crazy Horses' and 'The Plan' were their biggest albums in the UK.

I enjoy their music. Crazy Horses is my fave. Down by the Lazy River is great too.

I was at a gathering at a friend's house where they insisted the Jackson Five did One Bad Apple. No one believed me when I said it was the Osmonds. The hostess went on the computer to settle it and came back in the room and announced that it was indeed the Jackson Five. :yikes:

I don't see that friend anymore.

I actually preferred One Bad Apple to any of the Jackson 5 singles from this time..

Back when I was a Kid, my sister who is two years younger LOVED the Osmonds. Had posters on her bedroom wall, all that Osmandmania stuff lol. I hadn't really heard anything by them other than hearing "Puppy Love" cause she played it like 100 times in a row. Then one day I heard "Crazy Horses" and I asked her who sang it and she said the Osmonds. "No way" I said lol. I have several albums that she gave to me from her collection to this day. "Crazzy Horses" is one rocking a** tune!

Crazy Horses rules. Where did it come from ? It's as if they released a string of records like Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Old Oak Tree and then suddenly followed up with Good Vibrations.

Ha ha ha! I didn't like One Bad Apple because it was so Jackson 5 - ish and I didn't like the Jackson 5 back then. It's still my least favourite Osmonds song.

As to the OP's original question, I've never been in the closet about the Osmonds - I defiantly expressed my liking of their music to all my "hip" friends!

I liked 'Yo-Yo' and 'Double Lovin' less.

My favourite group albums are 'Crazy Horses', 'The Plan' and 'I'm Still Gonna Need You'. Didn't like it when they tried to go funky on the 'Love Me For A Reason' LP...

    Thanks Darryl.

Just thinking how that song title could have been perfect for Kiss! LOL.

I used to have this on VHS, but if I remember correctly...
Mine was from Musiclaiden in 1972 & there was no Jimmy bit.

Record Mirror (like Melody Maker and NME) was a big UK pop mag in the 70s. Here is their singles review page from May 1975. The Proud One gets a (fairly) decent review.
