Another unreleased song they did for the Donny & Marie show.

I liked the Osmonds, but I loved the Jackson 5. Maybe it was because this was first as a cartoon.[IMG]

Decent review of the 'Crazy Horses' album from the not-usually-Osmonds-friendly NME from November 1972.

Not really, but I think "Crazy Horses" is a great record. Original, unusual, full of energy. The rest? Not so much.

I loved the Osmonds! I saved up to buy this LP in the summer of 1974!

I´m afraid I never came across The Osmonds in the 70s, apart from a friend of mine, who had some of the albums + a compilation of Donny Osmond tracks. I didn´t buy anything by them until I was in my 40s, and by then it was too late, I suppose. But again, I was impressed by "Crazy Horses". Not the sound of any old boy band...

  7. If by "Black Dog" you mean "'Immigrant Song' by way of Chicago", then absolutely! A touch goofy, as is the Osmonds' wont, but this rocks pretty decently for the Colgate brothers.

Probably one of my first albums when it came out.....Merrill never gets credit as a very good rock vocalist, he's got soul. This album is actually quite good. Fortunately, "Puppy Love" wasn't on it.
Love most everything on it from the opener "Think" and "Lonesome They Call Me, Lonesome I Am" to "Find 'Em, Fool 'Em, Forget 'Em," and the ballads "Catch Me Baby" and the cover of "He Ain't Heavy." Never liked the Donny-centric stuff much ("Sweet and Innocent") or the hit "One Bad Apple".....After this one, got Phase III, another pretty strong album. That's it for my Osmond collection...moved on after that....Never got the CDs....maybe for old time sakes? ;)

Been waiting for these ever since you mentioned them on the 'Carpenters album by album' thread.

Can't say I'm an Osmonds fan, but I bought Donny's 1989 solo album recently on CD. I loved "Soldier Of Love" then and the album is definitely a blast from the past. I really want Eyes Don't Lie too. I really like "My Love Is A Fire" and "Sure Lookin'". :o

Edit: Four of the songs on Eyes Don't Lie were produced by David Gamson of Scritti Politti. That's always a plus in my book.

I actually like 'Eyes Don't Lie' better than his 1989 solo LP.

Never had any use for them but they really caught me sideways with the "Love Me For a Reason" single. I still love that one to this day. It's got kind of a Tavares feel to it and it's a really nice song.

Donny's Alone Together album was mostly written by his brothers. After that he went back to recording standards and pre Beatles pop

I remember having this k-tel album on vinyl before I had any of Donny's early 70's solo albums.

That's a nice comp. Shame it doesn't quite include the full albums.:)
