In the middle of watching Get Hard, I told myself I'm glad I'm not an actor!

Remove Monty Python from the original list, and I'm with you. Other than that, and yes, add Jim Carrey, and pretty much any comedy actors/shows that went from TV to movies (excepting Monty Python, of course). Did we really need a Bewitched movie? And any former SNL cast member in the credits means I ain't watching.

 Because you don't want to make millions of dollars like Ferrell and Hart do?

Friedkin directed that???? Wow - I never realized that.

Granted, when "DotC" came out, I doubt I knew who he was. Looking at it now, Friedkin seems like a bizarre choice to direct that flick...

I agree...this show is not funny at all and has no redeeming qualities...bad writing, bad acting, unbelievable that it is still on the air. And I just saw an ad that it is starting in syndication in the fall. Only in America can people get very rich off of crap like this show.

The thing is, I can watch a comedy film from the 1930s-1950s, not laugh out loud once, but still be pretty entertained. I think it's (mostly) from the 1980s-up big Hollywood multi-multi-million dollar extravaganza comedies that flat-out suck that most people are listing here....Deal of the Century, Bewitched, Grown Ups 2, etc. It just seems more "offensive" to throw millions of dollars and promotion behind something so patently unfunny.

There are just tons of horrible juvenile comedies shoved out since the late 70's to make a quick buck. We call them [boob] comedies, since so much of the humor revolves around laughing at naked women/girls. We flip through the free movies on Comcast, and you can still see them. Some I can remember the title, some I can't.

Ugh. Add the Stepford 'comedy' remake.
There are some actors and actresses who are just too serious and contemplative to deliver comedic lines, and she is one of them.

When I reviewed the movie in 2004, apparently I disagreed! :)

"Hackman particularly seems somewhat drab. He mostly looks bored and goes into the role on cruise control."

Topical comedy doesn't age well, but a lot of comedy is timeless...

Most Will Ferrell films are a disappointment. Even when he has a good script (Talladega Nights) he overdoes it and slips into
his tired "man-child" shtick at the drop of a hat. Old School had it's funny moments though...

What kind of comedy is Superbad? All I remember were a constant stream of F-Bombs...

I liked "Talladega Nights", though it took me a couple of screenings to enjoy it - I wasn't wild about it the first time.

Reilly's the best thing about "TN". The Ferrell character is too much of a prick too much of the time.

I like a lot of Ferrell flicks but I've never quite embraced "Old School". Just watched it again the other week - it's enjoyable but not as funny as it probably should be, IMO...

"Superbad" used the "f-word" 190 times, or 1.61 times per minute.

That's not even the most "f-words" in a Jonah Hill comedy - "22 Jump Street" had 1.78 per minute!

Another Hill movie - "Wolf of Wall Street" - had 3.16 per minute. If this chart is correct, that's the most "f-word packed" mainstream movie ever made:
