    Hey all,
After lurking on this site for 3 years or so, I've decided to join in on the discussions. What a great idea Mr. Hoffman had to open up the universe of online music conversation to all of us music obsessives!
So, as a huge fan of Gary Moore and an even huger fan of Cream, the all-too-brief BBM supergroup has captured my enthusiasm for over 20 years. Their one album and (fabulous) handful of b-sides (plus their early appearance at Bruce's 50th birthday concerts) left me wishing for more.
I read an interview with Jack Bruce from late 1994, in which he said that he and Moore were busy writing songs for a second BBM album, and that the songs were notably different from the sound they cultivated on 'Around the Next Dream'. Does anyone know if they actually recorded anything for a second album? Was the BBM track "One Day" (released on Moore's 'Ballads and Blues' CD) an out-take from the first album or something from an aborted second one? Are there any tracks left over and still unreleased from the sessions for the first album?

Sorry that I can't help answer your questions, but I appreciate you bringing them up. Love all three and need to check out their work. I remember reading a concert review during that time and being upset with myself for not being aware of, and attending the concert that was 90 minutes from where I lived.

From interviews, Baker couldn't stand Bruce, but not the other way around.

    Thanks, didn't know that.

I believe there is a pro-shot concert of them on YouTube.
Would be sweet if it were released as a official CD / DVD set someday.

And it didn't stop them from working together from time to time. In addition to BBM, Baker appeared on Jack's 1989 album A Question of Time and even toured with him to support it.

It was an out-take from the first album, but was left out as there were enough ballads on the album.

In addition to Ginger's well documented issues with Jack, he was not enamoured with Moore' playing and personality according to his autobiography. Ginger claims to have only done it for the money.

Anybody know why Ginger didn't play on the BBM single "Where in the World"? The CD booklet says that someone named Arzan Ahmun played drums on that track. It's weird to me that, for their one and only single, there is a fill-in for their famous drummer.

    (15) and (16) are from a Virgin promotion tape. Almost all tracks are identical to the [original] CD. (13) and (14) are from a demo tape with 5 tracks, presented at a Virgin PR meeting in April 1994. The only major difference is on (1). The demo/promo versions are longer.

Wow, really helpful information, answering questions I've had for decades! Thanks!!!
I had read somewhere in an interview with Gary Moore that the concerts from BBM's only tour were professionally recorded. Let's hope that somehow, someday, we'll see a legit soundboard release! The 'grey area' recordings that I've heard from the tour certainly feature wickedly hot playing, but the sound quality is invariably dire.

I didn't even know about this band, and I'm a big fan of (ahem) BLT & Seven Moons, for example. I'll have to get this, thanks!

For a preview of the band, get a hold of Jack Bruce's "Cities Of The Heart". Live, great sound and fantastic performances. BBM are mostly on the second CD.

According to the Gary Moore bible, the album was originally planned with Gary Husband on drums. This lineup did record two songs that were released on the Ballads & Blues CD - "With Love (Remember)" and "Blues for Narada". Whether these were recorded before or after the BBM album I don't know (the GM bible says the latter).

I actually only recently got the album and I'm pretty critical - there's only three songs on there ("Where in the World", "Glory Days" and "Wrong Side of Town") IMO that really make sense in that constellation. The other tracks are either Cream re-writes or songs that would have been just as good on one of Gary's solo albums. Great playing overall of course...
