Man, I'd love for this to happen! I remember when the series ended and all the chatter about a movie was happening. Can't recall which of the actors said as long as that incredibly detailed set, the town of Deadwood, wasn't torn down there was a chance. It was torn down awhile ago. Making an Entourage movie is child's play compared to what it would entail to make a Deadwood movie. But hey, anything's possible in Hollywood, right!? In the meantime, you can currently see Al & Trixie in Shotime's excellent Ray Donovan ( I'm still waiting for him to call her a loopy c***!);).

I think they could easily solve the set problem by setting the movie a few years after the series ended, which would allow them to show the development of the town since then.

If you know the show and the clip I posted, the subject line actually makes sense even when censored...

Are you sure about this? I think Deadwood was shot at Melody Ranch which operates as a perennial western set for rent. http://www.melodyranchstudio.com/ I was just thinking about how CHEAP you could shoot a Deadwood movie compared to most movies. Every one wears the same clothes every day. There are only a handful of sets... And it's a closed set in a fantasy Western town, probably less of a headache with permits and whatnot than shooting Entourage.

Not from outside the thread it didn't. Dead Wood made no sense. Moot now anyway, so why care ?

Frankly I didn't notice the thread title had even been changed until about an hour ago. We live by their rules which is cool. That is why I replied to you. Then I saw the change.

And when I wrote the title, the break up of the name was not intentional. Just a quick typo thing from my iPhone but we cannot alter the titles ourselves. Yes I tend to be snarky at times but in this case the innuendo was actually accidental..

I don't think the problem would be getting the set- the main problem would be assembling that massive cast yet again. All those actors may be tied up in other projects- didn't I just hear that Ian McShane (Swearingen) is signed on to Games Of Thrones now? And a few of the other players are now on other shows, so this could take YEARS to put together. I'd love to see it, HBO promised this to us after the shows incredibly poor ending (How'd that John From Cincinnati show work out for you, HBO?) but I'm not holding my breath.....and they need to do one for Rome as well...

Perhaps McShane agreed to do GoT as a condition that TPTB at HBO proceed with the Deadwood movie?

The video I posted runs for close close to 8 minutes. If they made a video of all the times they said that OTHER word, it would probably run for hours!;)

I really enjoyed Deadwood S1. But it feels more and more like a theater stage play. Everything happens inside, and when they do get out it is on the same small main street that is Deadwood town. I'm not to psyched about a movie at this point

Hope it comes true. Let Milch wrap up the series the way he planned to before the plug got pulled by the c-suckers.
