Adam Sandler's highest-rated movie on Rotten Tomatoes is Punch-Drunk Love. (79%). Well, other than Top Five (86%), the Chris Rock movie Sandler appeared in last year (and which I wouldn't count).

Maybe not the greatest actor, but man he's been in some good movies:

    Mark Wahlberg

    Three Kings...war
    The Departed...crime drama
    The Fighter...sports
    Ted...comedy
    Boogie Nights...porno ;)

Ted is probably the most questionable as a great film, but it's still damn funny (for half its length anyway).

Just one man's opinion, but "Infernal Affairs" (the film that "The Departed" remakes) is head and shoulders above "The Departed".

I think I would have used Ghost World instead of The Conversation, simply because I think she is in one single scene of The Conversation??

  7. How can this be? Does it have the Winter Hill Gang cruising over the Zakim Bridge to the sounds of the Dropkick Murphy's 'Shipping out to Boston'?:D

    I thought not….

I was considering her the other day but didn't pull the trigger. One of the movies I would have listed is "Atlantic City" with Burt Lancaster. I love that film.

I watched the first minutes when it was broadcast on TV then ( can't remember why, maybe there was a soccer game) I switched over, so I can't really comment. I just remember its opening scene was on a beach and that the character portrayed by Sandler was some kind of Superman...

    Warren Beatty:

Splendor In The Grass - Romantic Drama
Bonnie And Clyde - Biographical Crime
Heaven Can Wait - Sports Comedy
    Reds - Epic
    Bugsy - Crime Drama

Either Heaven Can Wait or Reds is my favorite Beatty film.

(Left out Shampoo, Dick Tracy, Bulworth and a few other popular good films starring Beatty because I don't think they are considered great films; just good films.)

I considered him too and I would have included McCabe & Mrs. Miller (western). :)

He was, but he played it for laughs, as the action hero really wanted to be a hairdresser. Usually when Sandler plays super-duper-awesome characters, he's insufferable - think "Big Daddy" - but I thought he was likable and charming in "Zohan" because he didn't make the character some alpha male...
