First (wishful thinking) thought - promo videos DVD! But I think realistically that ship has sailed. Love to be proved wrong though.

Strange indeed. It's the same font and everything as "1", but the colors are swapped around

I wonder what countdown the George Harrison Twitter account is referring to? The video starts at 10 and counts to 1.. Maybe 10 days from now? 10 hours? 10 months?

Actually. If they released a video version of 1 on DVD/BD and included a fully loaded CD called "2" of the Singles that didn't make it to #1 and some of their best album tracks that weren't singles, it could be a pretty nice intro package to The Beatles. And they could advertise it as the Beatles best ever one two punch!

Based on the YouTube countdown, I think that a video version of "1" is the most logical guess. Although I hope they don't limit it to the tracks on the "1" album, and release ALL the promos, including those made in the Anthology era and recently. I mean, if not now, when? Perhaps there will be a "standard" disc with just the hits, and a "deluxe" set with everything.

Since we seem to be looking at about 48 hours of frantic speculation, here is my hope -- in addition to cleaned up, remastered video: 5.1 remixes, new stereo mixes, and original mono as options; but original audio used wherever it differs from the studio tracks ("Hey Jude" and "Revolution" in particular).

wouldn't it be nice to have the video version of 1 in surround sound like gabriel and gensis did with theirs.

Yes, many of the songs on "1" do NOT have videos/promos (e.g. "Come Together"); and there are other songs that have videos/promos that are not on "1" (e.g., "Rain"). So it might be a "best of" the videos collection.

Most likely, rumours were there for years. And the recent appearance of video outtakes from "Rain" or "Hello Goodbye" would also indicate, that there is something in progress.

It seems quite weird timing though.. I mean, over the last few years, DVDs have increasingly edged towards becoming obsolete as streaming services and video sharing sites become more prevalent. A DVD would've cleaned up in 2000 or in any of the decade after (before youtube appeared especially) can't help but think a lot of potential revenue and buzz has been lost.

I am betting on a promo video release. Blu Ray, DVD, download. It would be nice to have a 5.1 sound track option. As for timing , Christmas time will be here again.
