Looks attractive, but... I think I'll stick with my '81 reissue. Trying to watch my spending budget these days, ya know.

I sure hope Ringo made a needledrop of this for posterity.

Until now, I've always thought that the 0000001 copy was in the hands of the Lennon family, but it really seems that I was wrong ...

News like this should have its own thread, be all caps and include a few asterisks and exclamation marks for added emphasis.

Ringo doesn't need his copy anymore now that he's finally learned all the drum parts.

I hope it's bought by a wealthy fan, but I expect some kind of investor will buy it, like those people who buy $75,000 bottles of rare wine and never drink them.

It's up to everyone rich and not rich what they do with their money of course, would just be nice to imagine it in the hands of a big, big Beatles fan.

Maybe, maybe not; don't forget that he lost the majority of his Beatles memorabilia collection in the house fire in the late '70s. He has more than one child, of course, so which one would he pass it onto?. That's a perfect way to have a family fall out, and I'm sure that's the last thing he'd want.

Very often, important people like Ringo sell their memorabilia for charity, we must not forget that....

Fun Fact: It's well known that Ringo Starr was the first Beatle to quit the group -- during the tense "White Album" sessions. But did you know that his three band mates bribed Ringo back by offering him first dibs on the very first numbered album that came off the record press?

Just looking at the whole "Ringo & Barbara" collection for sale there, what a lot of tasteless garbage mixed with a few truly great items ...IMO

Being #0000001 along with its provenance, it's a special item for sure...but far from unique or rare like owning an instrument that Ringo performed with during the actual recording.

Perhaps there were many n°000001s. This one for sale is a "factory sample" (check out the other photos).

-How many factory samples copies did they made and were they all n°000001 or did they have a different number each time (just like the commercial copies) ?
-Did they reversed back to n°000001 when they pressed actual commercial copies ?

    Many questions are still unanswered.
