You assume any of these sales are going through. Some shill ups to attract attention and make people think he has high priced records, with cancellations through eBay to avoid commissions, and maybe he'll eventually pull in a grand from some unsuspecting toad.

Not defending the seller but the palm tree label actually started in 1973.

I particularly like this auction with the Columbia prefix code of PC, which as far as I can find didn't exist 'till 1973, a full three years after Janis died. At least with the Live/Dead one, there's the VERY slight chance depending on when the Live/Dead 1973 Palm Tree label was released a possibility of Pig Pen's signature, jeez.

Hey, at least he offers returns. Good luck explaining buyers remorse as the reason for return though.

I've noticed that there are subtle variations in the "signatures" for the same person, which makes me think that he's got someone signing these by hand. It won't be long for these to start showing up at shops and if you look at the winning bidders it looks like several might be dealers. I'm tempted to try to win someting for a low price to see if the item is actually shipped. If it isn't, my guess is that it is some sort of money laundering scheme because the whole thing is going to blow up at some point with the attention he's getting for the winning binds.

This guy's not the first Ebay LP seller to be suspected of money laundering. I won't mention any names but we probably all know one well known seller who routinely gets ridiculous money for practically ever LP he puts up.

It does not take a genius to rip people off. 1 out of a 100 people would sell you a hundred dollar bill for a twenty if your spiel is halfway adequate. Every day perfectly well educated people sign away their entire life assets to someone who promises them a 20:1 return real quick. In fact the fleet of 3000 ocean going banana processors are about to be christened, we need to get to your bank today if possible.

I think most of this guy's records are "bought" by shills and never actually get shipped out. It's a very feasible money laundering scheme.

It's honestly kinda brilliant lol. If you're "smart" it's obvious what he's doing. If you're "not" then you hand over your money. Amazing
