Seeing that recent boxsets by Queen and Roxy music didn't gather exactly positive reviews, which box set you bought lived up to your expectations?

I enjoyed the Sound and Vision box set, even tho I eventually sold it but high prices averted me from buying anything else but the mediocre Absolute Greatest by Queen.

My favorite is probably the 13th Floor Elevators one from 5-10 years ago. I'm not sure of the sound quality, but the original albums weren't exactly crystalline. The package and all the extra songs were great. My only complaint is that it didn't include the Spades material.

Other than that, I never bought a Mosaic set I wasn't happy with.

Nilsson RCA Years has got to be one of the best boxsets out there. Amazing value for money too.

The Monkees 3CD boxsets are great in terms of contents but sadly very expensive if you live in the UK.

I'm very happy with my mono & stereo Beatles sets too.

Zombie Heaven. Only thing that could have improved it would have been O&O in mono.

I thought The Faces vinyl box set was quite nice. Just missing a booklet or something.

And I'm really enjoying Bowie Five Years. Well done, and looking forward to the next in the series.

This past year I really loved the Sticky Fingers and Faces (CD) sets.

All time favs include the Stones Charlie Is My Darling box, and The Faces Five Guys box. I also really liked the Queen Rainbow box.

I love the two vinyl box sets I have of Fela Kuti—set two: compiled by Ginger Baker and set three: compiled by Brian Eno. Very happy with the sound quality and the packaging, too.

The Travelling Willburys 3 x vinyl box set is excellent and although not strictly a 'Box Set' all 3 of the Nick Drake Boxed vinyl albums are also well worth acquiring :)

I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed that I've bought and enjoyed all of these. Even so, the one I've enjoyed and played by far the most recently is Queen-Studio Collection. Very cool set and a blast to play IMO.

Bruce Springsteen - The Promise set the standard, and this praise comes from somebody who casually likes him but is far from the biggest fan. You get the Darkness on the Edge of Town remaster, previously unreleased The Promise double album, Making of The Promise DVD, '78 concert and Darkness performed live start to finish. No filler, no fluff, no demos. This one raised the bar.
