My gut tells me RING-A-DING DING!, but I haven't referenced it against other session pictures from it, or maybe 1961.
I'm sorry if it is out if place. I found that cool old Capitol add and didn't know where to post it. Move or delete if you wish.
No, no, no. I think it's cool and am just curious where it came from. It looks like it was behind a glass frame, maybe??
Amazon has not yet caught up, but listings on some Euro and Japan websites suggest that the SFSL vinyl will be delayed a month. All four of the following LP reissues are being shown with a release date of February 26, 2016, in many places. EAN/UPC barcodes and titles... 0602547628626 : Songs for Swingin' Lovers! 0602547624062 : All the Way 0602547615435 : Ring-a-Ding Ding! 0602547628671 : That's Life
It's a Capitol Records promo poster from 1987. (Given its typography, I had a hunch that it wasn't of 50s/60s vintage.) There's one on eBay right now for $42.95.
Just got this from Elusive Disc and almost had heart failure: Turns out it is for the SACD when you click on the ad!!!!! ARGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
The link might be wrong...but the album is slated for a JANUARY 29th RELEASE from UMe on 180 gram vinyl! Hopefully, they will use the right tapes for this sucker...AT LONG LAST!
That ad link may be wrong, but the vinyl LP *IS* now listed as in stock: —> http://www.elusivedisc.com/Frank-Sinatra-Songs-For-Swingin-Lovers180g-LP/productinfo/CAPLP62862/
Thanks, Bob! Now....who will be the first to shell out the dough to see if the correct tapes were used? If it turns out they were, this baby is a sure sell-out quickly.
What happened with hi-res downloads? If I remember correctly, the last one was Swing Easy back in, like, August, wasn't it?
Total crap shoot, sad to say, but hope springs eternal. I wouldn't rule out this merely being the fantastic MFSL SACD cut to vinyl. (That's not a criticism, considering what has come out regarding this title in years passed......repeatedly.....ad nauseum.....since about 1962.)
