The Who - Fete De L’Humanité, Paris, France. Saturday, September 9, 1972.
In front of 400,000 people, the biggest audience that they would ever face.

At first glance it looks like Pete's let one fly at Roger!

We heard you the first time! :D

How is the Paris show not a festival?

Sorry about that. Damn smart phone!

This was considered a proper Who show with 2 opening acts and not a festival.

Hmmm! It is an annual festival, like many in Europe. I consider The Who Put The Boot In tour or Wembley Stadium 1979, Shea, etc. to be standard Who shows with opening acts.

Random thought - I always thought it was interesting that in 1970, Pete was rocking an almost-throwback to the mod haircut. Like in 1969, all the Who guys were sporting longer hair, at least kind of in line with the hippie fashion. And in 1971, it was back to the long hair, with the addition of full beards for Pete and John. But in '70, Pete was about as clean cut and young looking as he'd be for the rest of the Who's original run.
