    Hi,

Does anyone know what program I can use to convert SACD ISO to FLAC files? I have tried using foobar but when I play the converted files using VLC there is no audio.

Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi,

How are you planning to play them after? And are those ISO files stereo and 5.1 or just stereo?

    Sorry forgot to add:

Sonore ISO2DVD extracts to DSF files from the iso and then dbPoweramp converts DSF to Flac.

The first question perhaps is: how do you get the ISO? ;)

PS3. (You need the right one and the right software.)

Not really. Neither the PS3 nor the software keys are illegal. I do not want to debate this here as the owner surely has a strong opinion. That said, Google works.

I think he's referring to a purely hypothetical situation in which ISOs of long out of print SACDs were available on a hypothetical peer to peer file sharing protocol named after a fast flowing stream. If such a world existed, its not impossible I'd find myself shrugging and thinking "Well, if there's nobody willing to take my money for this....".

    But again, pure speculation.

That's exactly what I meant, if someone took the time and effort to actually do the work themselves, extracting the ISO would of been part of the whole learning process...
I'm not speculating this is what happened, I was just giving some back to Shicorp's comment in fun

I have a couple of questions regarding this software:

What output mode? Phillips DSDIFF, DSDIFF Edit master or Sony DSF?

    Also,

How do you save the files after they have been converted.

    Please let me know

    Thanks

When you open the gui for ISO2DSD, select what file you are using. I use Duel for the channel Mode and Sony DSF. This has been the best output for my pono so far but you should play around to see what output works for your setup.

The output folder is sent to the location of your ISO2DSD folder so if that is in downloads after you unzip it then the finished .dsf files will be in an artist folder there.

If you load the files into foobar2000 they will show as DSD64 in the bottom left corner of foobar2000.

May I ask, what are you playing these on once you have extracted them? I ask because if you are using them in VLC on a standard laptop/desktop through normal speakers you will not get any benefit using those files. In fact your sound will be worse as the system will struggle to process them smoothly.

Give us a shout if you need any more help.

    Thanks Phillip,

I am using VLC with Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 asyncronus converter into a Benchmark DAC1 then into my Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista 300 Integrated amplifier. Can I use db poweramp music converter to convert the DSD files into FLAC files?

In Foobar, pick PCM out in the SACD plugin config tab instead of DSD out.

Since you already have ISOs you are already converting I think it is something in your SACD plugin config.

SACD plugin should already be set to PCM unless he changed but forgive me for asking but what has that to do with him extracting the ISO?

The OP mentioned converting ISOs and listening to the FLACs. Even though most of this thread seems to be about extracting instead, I was trying to help him.

My favorite, least expensive, and most legal and trouble-free method is to put an SACD into a low-end Oppo universal disc player, press play, and then say, "Let's pretend this is a FLAC file" as the beautiful music starts. Dusted and done.

Yes, DB will convert, you need to have the plugin installed and configured in the set-up section, Worked nice on a Opus3 Comp I purchased last year
