I tried to figure out some other time in which Paul performed a contemporary song of someone who came after him in the music biz, but so far I have only recalled the Ian Dury song. As Ian died from cancer only a few years after Linda died, I am sure that this had something to do with Paul's decision to cover the song.

But can anyone think of another instance?

I attended a Prince concert in 2011 at a festival. He played an extra 1 and a half hour inprovised gig after the regular concert. Oh boy was that good. I witnessed Jimi Hendrix once and apart from that Prince guitar that night is the best Iv ever heard. His death at such a premature age -that s tragic. Pauls vocal decline at the age of 74 is not.

I'll agree with this in the sense that it *is* strange how husky and low and strained his speaking voice became, almost overnight, around 2010/11 or so. Voices change as you age but not like THAT. I mean, Ringo still sounds almost the same as he always has, or at least it's been a gradual deepening. Paul's changed drastically.

The closest I can figure is Paul and George Michael doing Heal The Pain.

The strange thing about the Ian Dury exception is that despite hitting it big much later, Dury was (slightly) older than Paul.

That sort of fits. But since it is a duet, it's sort of different too.

    Who are the judges here?

He did Only Love Can Break Your Heart with Neil Young at the Bridge School Benefits... And he jammed with Taylor Swift on Shake It Off - do those count?

I would count the Neil tune, as this is something that was rehearsed and purposefully done.

I knew I was forgetting one: Paul apparently recorded the Bee Gees' Too Much Heaven, but it's unreleased still

I really honestly enjoyed seeing Paul to no end. It was awesome hearing some songs I've never heard him perform live before! Compared to his voice, transcendent performance, and Sirvana reunion in 2013 at Safeco Field...well... Anyway, I love Paul!

I did, but Paul grabbed it out of my hand and drank it! How rude!

‘I was at a party in Hollywood, and the first person I bumped into was Paul McCartney,’ says Sheeran, 23, sprawling on the bed of a room in a north London recording studio.

‘We got chatting, although when you’re in that situation you don’t really know what to say, so you’re just like, “Hey man, how are you? Shall we get a drink? Yeah, let’s get a drink.”

‘We were interrupted, and I was a bit annoyed.

'Then I looked at the person who’d interrupted us and it was Prince.
So I thought, OK, I’m just going to step back and enjoy the fact that I’m standing between Paul and Prince.’

Now I'm wondering who is throwing the party in the first place and gets Paul and Prince as guests...

Exciting news, Maccafans. You'll likely be as thrilled as I was to see that the tour program includes a couple pages of stickers you can put on your lunchbox! I also wanna see @Frank swap out his current avatar for the one of Paul winking and making the heart sign ASAP after his concert!

As if THAT wasn't enough fun, you'll also be able to have coloring contests with your schoolmates on four pages of the book and share with all your friends on social media!!

Don't forget to color in your flag! I know the flag waving is always MY favorite part of the show!!
