There are a lot of people who love to buy counterfeits of Jimi, Zepp etc on coloured vinyl... I'm amazed but on CataWiki all counterfeits of Big Names sell... buyers do not care about royalties, good sound, ethics etc etc
I think with their price guide go with their minium estimation, then half it. That will give you a indication on quick/desired selling items, the other stuff will take a lot longer to shift.
A year later, I have been watching the collection value range feature and I've noticed that the max values seem to be rising quickest, which is interesting. More records seem to be selling for higher prices than the past, especially original pressings of old "Seattle grunge" and a lot of stuff that was pressed when vinyl wasn't really a medium option. Minimum: $32,000.12 Median: $56,616.91 Maximum: $100,235.67
I've got it and use it, but I really like the full site more. As they add more features to the app, that may change.
Only started adding my collection to Discogs a few weeks ago just add bits here and there, when I find a spare 20 mins or so... Up to now, I've got 540 items on - a few singles, mostly CDs (I estimate this to be around 15% of what I own) so far, the running total is: Minimum: £977.76 Median: £1,729.41 Maximum: £3,598.37 I hope to have it as near complete as I can by the end of summer and I can then update this.
Especially for editing I favour the full site. I do not even see a release number on my mobile. Overgrading, either on purpose or just lack of knowledge, is my favourite subject. Lots of mint or near mint -overgraded - vinyl over there.
How do you got that value? Is there any function on the Discogs's app or web site that tells you a value? thanks
Yeah, the app is useless. Never understood why you even need it. The main site is just as simple when on a mobile phone. 986 LPs Minimum: $10,978.88 Median: $17,372.30 Maximum: $30,391.93
On a PC - click your Homepage, then 'Collection' and the tab I've circled in red; then it will appear.
Spent the last few weeks putting my collection into Discogs, mostly out of curiosity after seeing this thread. Have to take it with a huge pinch of salt as many records I have aren't listed or the version isn't there, and there's some items I have that I know are worth quite a bit but haven't been traded. Minimum: £11,539.32 Median: £18,938.79 Maximum: £33,522.57
