  2. Good news, I can't believe it's taken this long for some Hendrix to hit SACD. Are the other guitar gods from the Sixties far behind?

That is killer news. Hendrix on SACD. Too bad it's not one of the original four albums, but I'll take it.

No detail specific to SACD/high-res on Acoustic Sounds site other than it's coming in those formats. Anyone know anything?

If EH are relaxing licensing so we can get audiophile non-compressed mastering I am thrilled.

Well correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the recent Cry Of Love and Rainbow Bridge re releases EH? Because the mastering was not compressed at all.

Never heard either, I am going by the EH remasters of the original three albums. Non RE-1 disc for ABAL sounds much better. AYE is better with some EQ.

Bernie Grundman did the 2014 Cry Of Love and Rainbow Bridge under the EH/Legacy banner and they are pretty nice. I guess EH still collects the cash but Legacy seems to be driving the bus picking up the fares. Maybe they are trying a new model of having AP do all the mastering for SACD, Vinyl and download, then Legacy puts together a CD from that for the bricks and mortar bins.

I vote for Bernie Grundman, he made the last couple of Hendrix releases sound phenomenal.

What is the postage cost to order one SACD from Acoustic Sounds?
They don't list it on their site.

Kevin Gray. Please let it be Kevin Gray.

Anyway if any Hendrix people look at this thread, I have hundreds of Jimi CDs and LPs of legit releases, in other words many different versions of many different releases from all over the world. Not bootlegs, real releases of the Jimi Hendrix catalog.

I will buy every SACD release on AP without hesitation if they are properly mastered for hi res release, and AP has a history of doing a brilliant job.

Make it happen. Take my money. And did I mention...

    Kevin Gray.

    Thank you.

Will only buy if it is a different/better mastering than the CD version.

I see these are hybrid SACD/CD releases! About time for the whole catalogue to be remastered by Bernie and released this way.
