  1. So the guy the LA Times assigned to write the article on the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster didn't know that Bruce plays a Telecaster? Don't they have fact checkers anymore?

As I said elsewhere, I'm not the biggest fan of Springsteen, but that is some classic tele screaming he gets into on that clip.

I forgot about him. I saw that clip and read about his collection a while back. Its unreal especially the condition of some of them. He can play any style with conviction.

Robbie Robertson was my first Tele hero. That sound he has on the early Band albums is the one I always hear playing in my head. I remember reading somewhere that his recording rig was a Tele through a Fender tweed or blackface Bassman at the lowest volume he could get. I can't post a pic but I love the one inside the brown album where Robbie and Levon are jammin in a room with just a black Tele and drum kit.

I didn't know as a 6 year old who James Burton was but I loved all my older sister's Ricky Nelson records and the guitar playing/sound on them.

    Cropper....a master!

Albert Lee. Keith Richards is a close second.

Favorite picture of a Tele is @telepicker97 profile picture. Have that framed in my studio.

Yeah, you really wouldn't want to smack someone with a Les Paul and play it afterward.

Gotta agree with you Windfall, Chuck is my favourite Tele player by a mile and that original Squier is a thing of wonder.

Honourable mention to my own mid-80s Esquire'd Tokai (with Rob Distefano Nocaster pickup, Eldred wiring and homemade paintjob ) - it looks a mess but plays better than any guitar I've ever played.

I wonder that myself - I know he used an open tuning I think it was an F chord, maybe he used the capo to change keys?
