I'm not against these kind of threads but for me it is impossible. I am more likely to be able to give you a favorite album. Too many songs, too many choices and too many moods!!

Changes from day to day, far too many favourites to choose from anyway. Here's my favourite, right at this minute....

The Innkeepers, from Maine, and Trella.

I'm afraid the last time I had an answer for that question was about 40 years ago and even then it was subject to change.

I could totally say this if not for a hundred other songs I feel the same about.

That's kinda why I always name that song. It's easier for me to pick that one great song of the past than it is to select from the dozens I love from my lifetime. But I really do love "Stardust."

Although I love rock and roll, jazz, classical and other types of music, a bulk of my favorite songs come from the great American songbook, i.e., Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Harlon Arlen. Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael, Victor Young, etc.

Any particular version? I love Nat King Cole's take. Even Manilow did a nice job in the 80s. Any others I should check out?

Nat Cole's is great but I love Louis. Armstrongs version from 1931 ( I think) and Sinatra's from 1961 on Sinatra & Strings

    Peace and love✌

One of my absolute fav. There's something about a few selected songs that you can listen to over and over and over again and still it grabs you:

I like Sinatra's version of Stardust, too. He sings the song with a sigh in his voice, just wish it went on longer. I know I can Google other versions, just interesting to see what y'all think.
