The packaging, while it looks nice, is terrible. The glue is coming apart and I've barely touched it, and one of the discs was glued in! The music and video however are amazing. Great sound & picture quality, and fantastic performances. Very highly recommended. I just wish they would have included the hard-to-find "On The Road Again" DVD of performances filmed in Scotland. Better yet, why not include the three albums + bonus tracks & music videos and make it a "Complete Highwaymen" set? Okay, now I'm dreaming! :)

Found a copy of this the other day, Webb's recordings for Pacemaker Records 1950 - 1951.

It's good stuff and if you like Webb Pierce generally you'll like this as it's pretty much in the same vein.

I finally got a Merle Travis collection last week. Opted for a 28-track EMI compilation called Capitol Country Classics which covers more ground than the Rhino or Razor & Tie CDs, spanning from 1946 to 1969.

Couple of thrift store purchases; Johnny Cash Ride This Train (American Milestones edition with 4 bonus track), I haven't got any JC apart from Sun stuff so I thought I'd give this 1960 album a go, also Kings of Cajun Vol III, I've already got Vol I so I'm assuming it's going to be a continuation along the same theme.

Here's a taste from track 1 artist; Joe Bonsall & the Orange Playboys.

    Jamey Johnson....WOW!!

How did I miss this guy? "That Lonsesome Song" and "The Guitar Song" (a double album broken up into a black and a white album) are outstanding!

The best George Strait Album, bar none. He hit his high point with Baby's Gotten Good at Goodbye.

I've been waiting for the price to drop and it has. If I had more patience, I'd probably find it cheaper, but I don't. I need it now

Wow, it's sad to see that much musical ignorance. Even sadder to see the Jimmie Rodgers Singing Brakeman Bear Family set torn apart and sold separately. I guess whomever just didn't understand it's importance.

My band wanted to cover Del Reeves "Girl on a Billboard". I'd never heard it... my wife says she often heard it when she was younger.

I bought the mp3. Its a funny and great song. I'm too lazy to tune the E down to D (more like I'll forget to tune it back up for the next song) so I had to fake the second part of the bitchin' tremolo guitar line.
