I bought it second hand. I found a listing near where I live and just looking at the pictures I loved it.

The MT10 has a dimple on the pivot point, actually. I'm considering getting a Feickert protractor as well. The laminated gauge that came with the MT10 has only one zero-point, and it feels a bit of mediocre quality.

I'm glad that your MT-10 has the dimple. There have been reports of it being left off of some more recent-production samples. The Feikert is the best investment you can make (although it's very expensive). It really makes setting the overhang and "straightness" of the cartridge simple (as long as you know where the pivot point is). ClearAudio I believe has a similar product.

Once you have the McIntosh (ClearAudio Talismann) cartridge aligned, you'll find that it's very sensitive to your anti-skate settings (as evidenced by Tracks 8 & 9 of the HiFi News Test Record). I can get mine to track "Track 9" without any "buzzing" whatsoever when the anti-skate is set correctly.

OK, so making a list of all of these TT's has turned into more work than I expected. Here is just the list so far. I have tried to remove record changers, jukeboxes and antique gear since I think those belong in other threads. By my count there are 51 brands listed. If there are errors or omissions please post corrections. I will now start the first tabulation.

Same here. I also use a HK ST-7 with a Shure Super Track III and a Pioneer PL-7 with a Grado Black cartridge.

I need to finish the restoration of an AR-XA that's been hanging around the shop.

Here is the count as of Post 187. I corrected many mistakes in the list. The number of brands is now 60! The leading brand by a wide margin is Technics. I suspect that some of this is due to DJ use, however, it is clearly the most popular brand in this survey so far. Here are the brands that are in the double digits:

    Technics 45
    Rega 25
    VPI 19
    Pro-Ject 17
    Thorens 16
    Dual 12

    The complete list:
