Apologies if this has already been posted. Per Steve Lukather:

"Toto Re- mastering ALL Sony records w/ Elliot Schiener at the wheel this week from the RAW UN EQ'd Tapes.
    OUR Remasters!

The last Toto album and Luke's last few solo albums have been all brickwalled.
Still hoping it is "done right"

    Hashtag done right! Wow..

..further implication, I hope this means Elliot Scheiner's not out of the game after all (as has been suggested a couple of times over @QQ, that he's mega into his baseball nowadays and had given up on the music world to devote himself to that, or something along those lines iirc?) love that man's work and was sad to think he had possibly retired early.. maybe that wasn't the case after all!

Knowing how big on 5.1 surround music he has always been, would it be foolish to dare to dream of an all-5.1 Elliot Scheiner remixed complete Toto catalogue seeing as he is doing the remastering... slightly spooky coincidence I suggested only the other day over @QQ it was maybe time for a new Toto IV SACD including Scheiner's 5.1 from the now OOP and pricey Sony SACD together with a new Stereo remaster, albeit with AF at the helm, was what I was hoping for.. still, this does sound rather promising.. wonder which label is handling it..

If these are CDs, then I'm definitely grabbing Toto I and Fahrenheit (very underrated).

Looking forward to these. Too bad Toto XIV won't be touched. Great songs but the mastering and/mixing is awful.

Picking up "Turn Back" for sure. Not only my favorite Toto album, for the music, but sadly one that has always sounded like muck. Hopefully a remaster will help.

One would hope with Schiener involved. Unfortunately, it mentions "remasters" not "remixes" though...

I have many of the Japan remasters from over the years. All are very loud and clipped like crazy. So even though most of the original CD's sound good I am hoping these remasters from un-Eq'd tapes really bring out the layers of great music that Toto created.

I own all of the original CDs and also think they sound pretty good. I am hopeful these new remasters will be even better but I'm not getting my hopes up.

My thoughts too. Have always been satisfied with most of the original 80s CBS CD's. Only Turn back could use a little more detailed mix.

OTOH, if these really are an improvement I might pick up the first 6 - all truly classic albums in my book. I will await the reviews, but I hope Lukather's definition of 'remasters done right' is far removed from his recent output. His last 2 solo albums, as good as they were musically, are still tolerable in the sound department, but the mastering of the last 2 Toto albums is a total trainwreck.
