I don't watch the FF stuff, but I did like hin in the last Riddick (2013) movie quite a bit.

    Prediction time, huh?
Don't like the CGI of the 2017' Kong film.
John Wick 2 ...meh. Do alright, recoup.
GOTG...yeah the raccoon is cute. This will do very well, more than the debut methinks...but lacks the element of surprise imo aesthetically.
Apes (planet ) latest instalment. Should do well at the box office.
Pirates Salazars Revenge..didn't see Johnny Depp in the trailer.do alright.
    Dunkirk.should be a big hit in Europe.7

Thanks for that list! Of those films, the ones I really look forward to seeing most are:

The Founder (Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, the former CEO of McDonald's Hamburgers)
Kong: Skull Island (loved the original film, and this one actually seems better than the last remake)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (everybody loves the raccoon!)
Alien: Covenant (which better have some answers this time)
Spiderman: Homecoming (I like the new kid as Peter Parker, and bringing in Robert Downey as Iron Man is a great idea)
    Star Wars VIII (a must-see)

    but not much else.

I've seen the trailers for Beauty and the Beast (which was not as bad as I thought it would be), and also Life, which just looks like a variation on Alien and It: The Terror from Beyond Space). I just saw the trailer to Ghost in the Shell last night, and while I think it looks like a visually beautiful movie, the plot seems like about 11 video games piled on top of each other. I also saw the trailer to Wonder Woman, and was surprised that it didn't completely suck. I'm bracing myself for Dark Tower, which is a novel I liked very much, but I don't like the direction the movie seems to have gone in.

    Everything else... eh.

    NOOOOOOOO!

I'm really in shock at the number of sequels, remakes, redos, and adaptations coming out in 2017. I think the year is going to suck for both movies and politics... :sigh:

I saw the teaser for Alien: Covenant, and it looks like a remake/reboot or a cheaper version of Prometheus...
"You didn't like Prometheus or thought it was flawed? Well, here's more of the same!"

As ill-conceived and nonsensical as it was, I guess it still made money, so...
Sometimes I wonder what goes through the head of Ridley Scott these days.

Like many others here, I'm dispirited by the seemingly endless (and empty) sequels on tap for 2017. I find I'm going to the theaters less and watching more old movies from the increasingly distant 20th century.

Went to see Ice Station Zebra in Downtown Chicago at either the Cinestage or McVickers theater when the movie debuted in 1968, expecting great things.
It turned out to be a lousy movie. A-quality actors delivering banal performances, cheap special effects and a script with terrible lines: "20 feet thick ice, 15 feet thick ice, 10 feet thick ice, 5 feet thick ice"

Quite a few critics and industry observers have said the same thing. What'll be interesting is if several of these major films crash and burn, big-time.

Good video, but they kinda forgot to mention Bob Zemeckis' name with Mars Needs Moms -- he co-owned the motion-capture production company, developed the story, and produced the film (though did not direct). Zemeckis was so crushed by that movie's failure, he's gone in the opposite direction with his later films, most of which were very human, lower-budget, and (generally) more down-to-earth stories. All those movies were pretty bad.
