Last year the 2016 thread had a wealth of information about new releases as they came out. Let's continue that! We're nearly two weeks into 2017, and already some interesting new albums have come out. Have any favorites?

Run the Jewels 3. It was released digitally late in December but physically in January so I think we can make an executive decision to count it this year! :)

So far I've only heard two new, 2017 albums and have liked 'em both - Brian Eno's Reflection and Black Anvil's As Was.

But I'll be picking up a few promising new releases later today - Flaming Lips, the xx, and Run the Jewels.

Could you find a larger image please? ;)

Yes, I'm enjoying this album as well. Hopefully it will sound as good as RTJ2 on vinyl.

I'm also digging the new albums by The XX ('I See You') and Julie Byrne ('Not Even Happiness'), both released today in the UK.

Will follow this thread. Great way to keep track of new stuff. Even though it always includes the classics:

"This thread is for new music not old recordings done 50 years ago"

"The thread title states "album" not "albums".

    "Haven't heard any"

Waiting with bated breath for Laura Marling's new one; "Semper Femina".

If it's anything like as good as the lead off single, "Soothing", it should be some piece of work.

Never really listened to her before but this caught me straight away.

I started off the year with Brian Eno's Reflection. A nice way to sink into the new year. Not sure it will be one of the top ones though.

I'm looking forward to Waaktaar & Zoe - World Of Trouble

    Two singles released so far:

Agreed - if we're counting that as a 2017 release, it's already at the top of my list.

The XX is up on deck for me. Bonobo was earlier today.

    :)

I'm going out on a limb here, but I predict the next Gorillaz album may well be very special indeed.

Listened to the xx in the car today and I was dancing on my way to work. Very excited to spin the vinyl tonight!

The new Ty Segall track that's streaming over at Drag City is really nice.

Quite mellow, but has me definitely interested in the new full length LP that's dropping on Jan 27:

I streamed the new Bonobo album while at the gym this evening. It's very good. I'll be buying it this weekend.

I've only heard one new album so far in 2017. If you are a fan of Grave Digger or any German Power Metal, Grave Digger's new one, Healed By Metal, is a good one. Just came out today. One of the most consistent, long-standing metal bands around. Been going strong since the mid-80s.
