    RIP. :(

From my favorite band of the 70s, when I was a young dude too.

Did Ian Hunter mention Overend's name in one of their songs.? Or is my mind going....

I've always appreciated a great rock name, and Overend Watts is definitely one of the best.

    Ballad of Mott.

A fine line for a tribute too.

This is truly a sad one....he brings great memories to us. So many from 1974's televised California Jam over the last year...of course, none were defined by that event per se but its in my mind just the same......

Sad news. I've always been most curious about him - he just looked so magnificent with his silver hair and platform boots. I see him as something as an icon, just not a well known one.

    R.I.P.

Morgan Fisher has shared on FB a recent EMail from Pete in which it is revealed to us that Pete has been suffering from throat cancer for at least six years, and was already ill by the Mott reunion gigs in 2009. He didn't want the news public because he couldn't face all the well-wishing from the well-meaning Mott supporters. Buff, Pete and Ralphers' stroke, a very rough ride for Mott recently. Ian is a marvel, putting on great shows and making excellent records at 77.
