The sax solo on "Urgent", by Foreigner, is a favorite of mine. I'm pretty sure it's Junior Walker attending to it, on the studio cut.

The sax solo briefly seemed to be coming back to pop a few years ago (2011, I think). Lady Gaga used one on "The Edge of Glory" (played by Clarence Clemons, actually) and Katy Perry had Kenny G play on "Last Friday Night." Both songs were big hits. But that seems to have been a brief return to the spotlight for the sax...

My favorite is "Waiting on a Friend" by the way. So...well, friendly. :D

I don't know if it's the best but I've always liked Mel Collins's solo in King Crimson's "Ladies of the Road."

Agreed. "Waiting on a Friend' is my favorite Stones tune and the Sax is a big part of that.

Here I am with a Little Richard song and a Lee Allen sax solo.

    How about "Slippin and Slidin"?

I just listened to The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack yesterday, and the solo in "Hot Patootie" still rocks like crazy.
