Nope, it wasn't. 5 albums, equaling 6 discs...my train of thought being that the classic albums sets are 5 discs

Superb lot, but I'd have to have Hatful of Hollow in there, probably instead of the debut. I know it would break up all the studio albums being there, but Hatful does a better job of representing the pre Meat Is Murder couple of years than the debut.

Some of these will probably happen in the near future, BUT I think the idea is for the 5 releases to be sequential. A Kiss five-pack containing:

    s/t
    HtH
    DtK
    Destroyer
    RARO

would be very handy indeed. The only problem would be that it wouldn't properly cover the first Kiss era (which I see as ending with Love Gun). Then again, HtH and DtK could be comfortably accommodated on one CD.

If I were making a list of my favorite Ryan Adams albums, several Cardinals albums would be in the top 5 (especially Cold Roses, probably my favorite from him). I was merely doing an exercise to see what I would put in if the Cardinals works were excluded.

I like your list, BTW. Cool to see some less well-known picks like III/IV. :righton:

Just trying to cover more of their career. I see a lot of people just choosing 5 albums in a row from the 70s for a lot of bands, which I don't think was the point of doing this.

I believe the point of this thread is to bundle the 5 most representative albums of original releases of each artist regardless of decades. Incidentally for some artists, their best work or best albums were released within the same decade such as their artistic peak in the 70's and their later works in the 80's or 90's are not good enough to be considered or to qualify as their best works or as their representative albums.

I would pay to get the first five Van Der Graaf Generator albums reissued without the harsh remastering that Peter Hammill oversaw. I heard that they released some specialty SHM deals like this in Japan or something, but they were too rich for my blood.
