Then there's all the dodgy internet humor that's credited to either John Cleese or George Carlin.

I quite often see Popcorn misattributed to Kraftwerk - looks like there several mislabelled videos on YouTube.

I had a friend (note the use of past tense here) who insisted that Todd Rundgren's "I Saw the Light" was sung by Ms. King.

I entered this thread to post that song. The most mislabeled song ever.

I just Googled it and saw Dave Matthews and Tim McGraw listed as the artist. :help::cussing:

I don't know how many people over the years have claimed Cat Stevens sung Cat's In The Cradle...

Just googled it and seems it's some sort of epidemic!!

You've saved me writing out the above here.
All thanks to a mislabeled mp3 from many years ago.
Only a few weeks ago, I had our local karaoke guy searching for this and he couldn't find it under his Cat Steven's section.

I've seen anything that is reggae being contributed solely to Bob Marley.
    Also some other mistakes:
Dust in the Wind by The Eagles
The Search Is Over by Journey
I Want to Know What Love Is by Journey

Frank Sinatra thought 'Something' is a Lennon/McCartney composition.

I was in a cover band that did this song and we'd buy a beer for whoever could correctly identify that artist, and you're right that most people said Van Morrison and we didn't buy too many beers.

In the early '00's download days, I'd search for lost Crowded House songs (many of which were just officially released late last year) and saw them credited for the likes of "(I Just) Died in Your Arms" and pretty much the entire Squeeze catalog. I'm sure the first one was galling for Neil Finn, as that Cutting Crew tune was the song that kept "Don't Dream It's Over" from reaching #1.
