I've been looking at used vinyl on Discogs and Amazon. What are your go-to on line resources?

mostly the ones you've already mentioned. Amazon are great due to their no-quibble returns policy. music matters for jazz...natch. ebay now and again, but that's a real minefield imo,u

gumtree are OK now and again too. if you're quick and happy to rifle through a mountain of trashed records!

Aside from the sellers on this site, I rarely buy used online anymore. I'm glad that records are popular, but I hate how it's also spawned a legion of either ill-informed or outright unscrupulous sellers.

Amazon is usually over priced to the hilt, I think I found one bargain that was cheaper than discogs and ebay at the time

I purchase many non popular bands so usually pressings are limited (variation wise) so I usually have good luck with clean ones via discogs and ebay especially for 12 inch singles

Both of those and ebay. I've been very lucky with ebay thus far.

    Discogs, eBay, craigslist

Craigslist probably doesn't count because I am going to pick up the records and have a chance to inspect before buying.

Scotto makes a good point. It's that way at the shows as well. You have to be careful at the shows but most sellers are good w/ you looking at condition before buying--THAT'S providing the room has adequate lighting. Sadly a few people who have recently gotten into the hobby just to sell don't know condition. Not good. Others seem to be enthusiastic enough and WANT to learn.

And he's right about the unscrupulous people, we've always had them in the hobby, sad to say.

I've bought some used vinyl through Discogs, so far, so good. Haven't from Amazon though.

I've been on ebay since 1999. Seller id - applecorp

100% positive feedback, as my user name implies - mostly Beatles related items. I always have shipping at $2.99 for singles and $3.99 for albums and I combine shipping charges on multiple wins. I always offer refunds. I never have a Reserve price and and always start every auction at $0.99, or less.
