Against my better judgement, this looks interesting...

Both of these have pretty good fan bases!

Go easy...the films of Michael Bay, especially Armageddon and Pearl Harbor.
And from a different director, I don't think 1941 deserved all of the hate it got.

Gordon Douglas' SKULLDUGGERY (Universal, 1970) starring Burt Reynolds, Susan Clarke, Roger C. Carmel and Edward Fox:

    Skullduggery (1970) - IMDb

The missing link is discovered in the jungle of New Guinea, and science has to determine whether or not they -- it's a tribe -- are human or animal. The scientists acknowledge that the only way to find out, definitively, is to mate with their women. If the fetus is animal, the missing link is animal and can be owned like a pet. If the fetus is human, the missing link has rights under the law. Until that question is resolved, the tribe has no rights under the law. Fortunately, the scientists led by Susan Clark and her noble adventurer friend Burt Reynolds refuse to exploit the child-like tribe. So she sets up the lab while he puts them to work in the diamond mines. This film is truly outlandish and has to be seen to believed. Script writer Nelson Gidding (who wrote several brilliant scripts for Robert Wise) pushes the possibilities further than you'd think possible. The film is too inflammatory and politically incorrect to ever see the light of day on home video. I'd post the one-sheet but photobucket is a real headache lately.

The Big Kahuna starring Danny DeVito and Kevin Spacey.

Brilliant theatrical play made into a movie. Outstanding actors, dialogue, etc. One of my faves but nobody seems to give it as high a rating as I.

"Windy City Heat" (2003) is an unusual (real life) comedy that I get a kick out of.

Yeah - it deserved MORE!

I actually kinda mean that. If "1941" had some out from the Spielberg of 1997, I wouldn't have thought that much of it, but for the Spielberg between "Jaws"/"CE3K" and "Raiders"/"ET", it's shockingly bad.

THAT Spielberg was as good as a filmmaker gets, so for THAT Spielberg to make a movie as flawed as "1941" remains shocking to me...

I cannot express my distaste for Adam Sandler strong enough. But not only do I not mind his 50 First Dates, I enjoy it. Of course I find Drew Barrymore charming as hell.

My problem is that most of my favorite movies are from the 30s and 40s. It's rare to find someone to talk to who's even heard of these movies, let alone watched them.

Rollerball (1975) and Demon Seed (1977) are hated by many people I know. Rollerball is seen as stupid and dated sport movie totally overlooking the dystopian and social aspect of the film. Demon Seed is seen by many I know as also a dated attempt of artificial intelligence movie not keeping in mind the dangers of artificial intelligence while The Terminator is easier on the people on this regard. I like both Demon Seed and The Terminator by I prefer Demon Seed.

Young Adult. It's the second best movie released this century. (Frozen is the best)

Well, there's me and apparently Xdawg, so that's 2 more! :D

I've shown it to at least 10 friends, and all of them liked it. I think there's a bigger "Bowfinger" cult than you'd believe!

Police Academy 2 is actually a pretty good film. The bit with Julie Brown always gets a laugh.
