I just ordered the 2016, won't have it for at least a week.

Enjoy this overall good issue. My copy was very well shipped mint, is a flat disk, and quiet.

Serious question... are you just trying to build a post count?

Not sure what your question is about. Please educate a new member about post count.

    Thanks for your question.

The 30th Anniversary sounds considerably better than the BG 2016. Frankly baffled by the poll results.

It's the right one as my purchase links to it. They appear to have changed the description but it says 2016 if you scroll down to 'product details'.

I think they have swapped the import and domestic descriptions in error as they have a columbia/sony at £40 and this one marked import at £18 (Pink Floyd Music)

Ah I was viewing on mobile and it said 2011. But on desktop it says 2016. Strange! Anyway will have to pick this up at some point. The 30th seems to be quite pricey.

Yes it's pricey, and can be a bit hot/sibilant on some setups. Some love it, some don't.

Well, if the poll were open I'd vote for the 30th.
And it's not really all that close. My copy is one of the most perfect pressings I've ever had, and I had absolutely no issues with sibilance or tracking. The 2016 has an overall glossy tone to it...its flatter depth-wise and doesn't have the impact no matter the volume.

The 30th is pretty much the last DSotM I am looking for.
I have the original MFSL, multiple UK, Wally US, 40th, 2016, UK Quad, etc. I really need to bear the 30th.
Wish it was still available somewhere without paying the big markup.

Well, I don't know what you consider expensive, but I literally just bought this copy (sealed) within the last two weeks...and it was about $50 shipped. I just looked around on Discogs.

But honestly, the copy of this album I play the most is this one:

It just sounds perfect to me. You'll find quite a few fans of this pressing on LTOV.

Is the 30th all analog chain? So far, I have the US Harvest Label (bought new in 1982), '70's Dutch Holland White vinyl and Toshiba Pro-Use Series.

I was lucky to find 2003 with all the inserts for $40 CND, and was very happy with the sound of the pressing. Is there a difference between 2016 UK vs 2016 USA pressings?

I believe the 30th is the last all analogue pressing of this album. I could be wrong however. The 30th really requires a Contact Line/Micro Line type of stylus, or there's a good chance for sibilance.
Your Pro Use is held in high regard.....I have not heard it. Do you like it?

Thanks. I wondered if your noted differences might be related to difference in the signal chain.

The Pro-Use sounds different than my other 2. I'd probably describe it as a tonally neutral presentation. Yes, I like it along with my other versions.

Fan of the Pro Use version here too, probably the copy I go to the most.

Is Bernie Grundman basically just a brand at this point or does he actually do all the mastering himself?

The name of the facility/business is Bernie Grundman Mastering. The Mastering Engineers working there are Bernie Grundman and Chris Bellman. You'll see the initials of whoever does the Mastering in the deadwax.

30th seems to have lost some fans due to some bad pressings. I must have got lucky because I can't imagine ever needing this album to sound better. It blows away other copies I've compared it to. US, German (which was my favorite for a while). 30th just jumps off the turntable and sounds alive.
Wasn't there something posted about the 30th using a true master tapes when all others used a copy of the master?
