I think Craig is fine. He's a physical actor, much more than, say, the cerebral Hiddleston. But also conveys an almost vindictive temperament and quick intellect. That's the kind of guy who gets a license to kill. Henry Cavill would be good as a different kind of 007, maybe one that was a bit bemused by all the adventure.

Did you give any indications you were joking? Nope...

They should just quit after the total turd that was Spectre.

All the money and talent produced that...?

I can think of about a dozen Bond films I liked less and the series continued, sometimes producing Bond films I liked better. Why quit when they can try to do better?

The Bond series will end if/when people stop buying tickets.

Whatever creative flaws it suffers, "SPECTRE" made $880 million worldwide, so obviously the bloom ain't off that rose yet...

Betting on Ridley Scott signing on to do a Bond in the next few years?

He'll do anything for a fee now.

Maybe I missed it earlier in the discussion, but why exactly did you think Spectre was crap? I thought it was a step up from Skyfall and neatly tied up the Mr. White arc while intro'ing Blofeld. The campiness was slightly amped up next to the previous Craig outings, but compared to earlier Bonds that's not saying much. The Bond girl was the hottest yet. The villains were great. You had good car and airplane scenes, good locales. The opening Day of the Dead intro was really strong. Ok, some criticism is warranted (I reserve most for Skyfall in the Craig series) but I'm not altogether settled on what that is, and certainly Spectre doesn't strike me as being crap.

Only a hack journalist could have come up with that from the Broccoli quote. If you read the idiotic article, the headline could just as easily have been "Can Be Gay" or "Can Be Black"...all Broccoli really said is that she doesn't want to work with anyone other than Craig. Seems that the purpose of "news" these days is to get clicks. Accuracy is roadkill on the info superhighway.

    Bring Sean Connery back! :shh:

On a plus note, I picked up the Complete BOND on Blu Ray for $60 on Black Friday. It even included Spectre! :righton::righton::righton::righton::righton::righton::righton:

Too old - he'd be 58 by the time the next Bond hits - and already plays a super-spy character in the "Kingsman" films.

BTW, hello to Prince George's County!

I watched this drek with my other half just before Xmas.

There were a couple of 'interesting' scenes. The opener was pretty good but the rest was pretty forgettable. Yes I remember a bit with a plane that looked like any other CGI fest action sequence and a couple of others. Then I remember a totally dull, what seemed like an hour of some guy with a silly accent and odd affectations gloating and saying some highly unlikely conclusions and statements over a very bored looking Bond in some stock bad guy base in the desert. Then a bit of a routine shoot em up in London.

It was a lumpy mess of a meal. A reasonable though largely unmemorable starter, a terrible main meal and a fair to middling dessert.

Not a patch on the first Craig Bond movie. They have just withered with each instalment since.
