It's definitely better than the used Pablo Cruise days but I don't really think it's geared towards someone like me.

I don't think it's geared toward anyone over the age of 16.

I have no idea who those bands are, but I admit the colored vinyl looks really cool.

It's basically a dumping ground for indie label cutouts and overstocks now I guess. Sell them off to suckers via grab bag subscription.

    I'd say that's a good bet.

Aimed at teenage hipsters who get excited by coloured vinyl but don't have a record player. :) I expect these are albums that they can't sell in their shop (unknown bands?).

I think they are just unknown to those of us over 18 or so. But yeah, still not selling elsewhere I'm sure.

IIRC the brick and mortar store closed. They are probably getting these from a distributor.

I think you'd be better off with Pablo Cruise....

    Definitely overstocks...

After taking people's money for Summer 2016 delivery, it appears that maybe perhaps it's now shipping in the Summer of 2017...Anyone seen one in the wild?

I recently bought a 6-month subscription through Groupon just to check this out. My first shipment was Ryan Adams "Demolition," Al Green "Let's Stay Together," and Counting Crows "Somewhere Under Wonderland." We'll see how the next few months go, but I'm satisfied at the moment. I think it's fun.

Ha. Funny to come across this thread. I don't do the VNYL thing, but Nick Alt follows me on Instagram.

Me too. I think he follows every record related account he can find on IG. Marketing in 2017. Weird.

He also seems to comment more than any other person that follows me. Asks questions, etc.... It's odd.

He probably does this to spread the word of VNYL and likes to give away discount codes/free subscriptions as if they're confetti. Which explains why so many youngins on YouTube peddle the VNYL subscription (and some of them are not exactly transparent about it either).

And the VNYL company is still sketchy as all hell.

I've never gotten any offers and wouldn't take him up. Honestly, I'm surprised they have made it up to today. From the looks of the turntable with letters missing, it looks like he is in bed with some pretty big names. It's all bizarre to me.

I, too, have gotten an unsolicited message from the company about checking them out. Needless to say, I deleted the message.

Apparently, they hired a dedicated PR/advertising company to do their bidding, which their ads are very pervasive and annoying since they use advertising cookies on your web browser.

Their TRNTBL is a hot mess with no physical RCA connectors whatsoever and the only way to hook it up is via wireless or Bluetooth! No way will I ever sink money into that thing.

He's followed and unfollowed me on Instagram about 5 times over at this point.

I think the idea is to get the person you follow to follow you, and then hope they don't notice when you unfollow them.

Just checked their website, expecting it would have gone 404.

    Nope...Still there.

I can't believe these guys are STILL in business...

    vnly.org

And now, for $25, you can record a <= 1 minute 45rpm single that they'll send you. I wonder how that works?

    Vinylgram

Looks like the TRNTBL Turntable FINALLY started shipping this year. The reviews I could find were iffy:

Like the saying goes, if I had a nickel for every Mantovani record I found at goodwill.... It sounds like this guy turned it into an actual business!
