Does look pretty awesome. The packaging is better than the last two with the white covers.

It's a shame there is no pro-shot concert with Cliff. Also pretty disappointed to not see any of the unreleased songs recorded during the sessions. But I'm glad to see 2 DVDs this time.

My purchase is going to mostly depend on the mastering. So I'm anticipating saving a chunk of cash but I'm hoping I'll have no excuse not to buy it.

Ordered my box set from MetClub. Shipping was $20 through FedEx which I'm ok with. Also picked up the Vans live 3xLP set while I was at it, looks like a good setlist.

Edit - this is the first vinyl I've bought in around 2 months. Probably the last for at least that long, lol taking a break.

ps - xposted from the other thread. Thanks @noname74

FWIW, when ordering it said my card would be charged on or around 11/1/2017. Not sure if that was mentioned, but figured I should throw it out there in case. Just read the article and it states 11/10 so I suppose this wasn't all that worthwhile :)

I'm so pumped for this. I almost jumped on the MetClub preorder.

Had to tell myself "Self, they won't run out of these today...plus self, you'll order like $300 more of Met store stuff."

I'll likely wait for Amazon. But, Met Store is awesome.

The two things that stand out the most are finally getting to hear them cover Fang, and that a Japan 1986 video does exist after all. Should be pretty freakin' cool.

I'll get the 3 disc set. Pretty cool that you can order the hardcover book separately.

How was the remastering on the first two? Okay? I skipped them, but Master of Puppets is one I'll spring for.

I'm sure it will be. It terms of the sound, probably slightly more compressed than the '95 Marino remasters with louder drums.

I have the vinyl only of both KEA and RTL. Comparing them to '89 Vertigo and Rhino box for KEA, and 2 MegaForce RTLs and the Rhino RTL - they hold up exceptionally well. There is some silly distortion in the very beginning of Hit the Lights but otherwise, they are exceptional. I've never heard an MF KEA but the Vertigo and Rhino are both stellar and while they are better, they damn well better be for the money paid. Same with RTL - the MF and Rhino are better but, yea. For the Vertigo KEA and MF RTL, though neither are cut super hot they're very dynamic. The Rhinos are very aggressive, hot, I'd wager they're more compressed but they sound incredible.

Still, especially compared to any other reissues/remasters, the 2016's are fantastic.

8/31/1985 Day on the Green, Oakland. Mostly a single camera in front of demin clad Cliff in daylight. Scorpions footage from same show circulates. Might only be mono soundboard.

There is no pro shot '86 show with Cliff in existence - they didn't hold anything back.

And all of the unreleased songs are gonna be there, so they didn't skimp on those:

The Prince (Work in Progress Rough Mix) (4:46)

He's talking about a pro shot during the Puppets era, which does not exist.

The DOTG footage is in the Ride deluxe box.

That is rivaling the King Crimson boxes for thoroughness. I'm surprised they have the audition tape for Jason. I'm curious if they recorded and kept the others, like Les Claypool.
