yes I agree its as good as it could possibly be after Thriller. Half of the songs from Bad, people will be familiar with even if they don't have the album.

From the year before Bad was released, and recorded during the Bad sessions here's We Are Here To Change The World from Captain EO:

I like that Stevie article, as well as their collaboration on by the album.

I wish this would have been put on the album in place of Just Good Friends. Great song! :righton:

Quincey's production of Thriller and Bad are still benchmarks in recording excellence. Drop the needle on these and be prepared to have your mind blown...again and again.

Weird Al still has this song in his concert setlist all these years later. :)

Trivia- Michael let Al use the Bad set from the Moonwalker movie to film this video (Michael was a really nice guy who could take a joke). :)

I would also add the early version of Speed Demon to this - which has completely different lyrics.

Only that it's aged badly too.

Never found a track I enjoyed on Bad. Michael's work on Off the Wall and Thriller I found excellent.

The track "Give In To Me" caught my ear melodically. The guitars had a dated chorus effect I liked (the drums machine not so much). Overall, I liked the song.

I remember the day Bad came out. I was in college. I was late to class that day because I was waiting for a local record store to open so I could buy the album -- I could not wait to hear MJ's follow-up to Thriller.

Initially, I was disappointed. It just didn't reach out and grab me the way I expected it to. Thriller and Off the Wall were albums I played to death, and I had high expectations for Bad, which it failed to meet. The songs didn't connect with me. I was also disappointed that the big song from Captain EO ("We Are Here to Change the World") wasn't on it.

Over the years, I've grown to like the album much more, although I still don't consider it to be on the same level as Off the Wall and Thriller.

As a whole Bad may not have been as strong as it's two predecessors but it has its diamonds.

If you had bothered to read the other posts you would have seen that CD bonus track Leave Me Alone had already been mentioned twice, in only a 5 page thread.
Now go away and stand on the naughty step and come back when you have learnt some manners, and also when know how to contribute to a thread without insulting other members.
    Cheerio....

That was a great read, thanks for posting.
I remember reading it when it came out but had forgotten most of it. I did remember the bit about Michael fasting and not eating on a Sunday but couldn't remember where I had read it.
