I always appreciate a good pun or metaphor. And double entendres, whether the second meaning is a bit risque´ or just an innocent double meaning...love em. Or some interesting imagery is always cool - whatever floats your boat.

Any that tickle your fancy, or even get your goat? Share 'em.

Oh, and please reference the song and artists! For those of us that are thick as a brick (Jethro Tull)

Television - "Foxhole" (a futuristic battlefield scenario turns into '70s porn sleaze once you
pay closer attention to the cheeky lyrics). Didn't expect such a Zappa-esque turn from Tom V.

Sorry to ask but can you guys write the actual double entendre so I don't have to go through a whole song to find it? Ironically enough, I just posted two for Steely Dan 20 minutes ago.

I want to lick the platter, the gravy doesn't matter.

That would be good...give us the actual lyrics guys!

A favorite metaphor/image is "Riding shotgun down the avalanche"...by Shawn Colvin.

I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche, ooh
Tumbling and falling down the avalanche, ooh

Not really sure there's a lot of subtlety with this one.

You know we love each other it's plain to see
There's just one answer comes to me
Sister lovers, some of you must know about water brothers
    And in time maybe others

The way Grace sings it, the word 'comes' becomes a pun

There was an actual news article at the time. I can't figure out how to include a scan of it, but it can be easily found on the net.

    Mickey Jupp - "Switchboard Susan"

Switchboard Susan, won't you give me a line?
    I need a doctor, give me 999
First time I picked up the telephone
I fell in love with your ringing tone

    I'm a long distance romancer
I keep on trying till I get an answer
    Gimme gimme one more chance
    She's a greater little operator

Switchboard Susan, let me off the hook
I've been this way since you give me your look
Switchboard Susan, you're all the rage
Come on sugar, let's get engaged

When I'm near you girl, I get an extension
And I don't mean Alexander Graham Bell's invention
Switchboard Susan, can we be friends?
    After six, at weekends

"You can do something in between" ('Drive My Car', The Beatles)
The phrase 'drive my car' was apparently slang for having sex back in '65 - the above line refers to the specifics of the said act.

I'm a King Bee, buzzin' around your hive' (Stones et al)
'It Ain't the Meat, It's the Motion' (The Swallows, Maria Muldaur etc)
'Work With Me Annie' (Hank Ballard)
"Big Long Slidin' Thing" (Dinah Washington)

It's easier for me to just nominate the entire "Spinal Tap" soundtrack than it is to list the songs. But if I have to list one, then I guess it's...............

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin
    That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
    Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I like to sink her with my pink torpedo

    Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom, drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

I met her on Monday, it was my lucky fun day
    You know what I mean
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheekday
    You know what I mean

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights
