Back catalogue releases related to McCartney's 2016 move back to Capitol - First releases announced*

I've followed up the thread and my impression is the whole thing sort of developed a life of its own, so to speak.

maccawings basically told everybody not to expect the new album to come out this year, based on his information that something else, much less interesting in nature, was up in the pipeline. That's when some forum members started asking for leads (but are there any new songs? is this part of the archive series? etc).

Anyway, clearly this info is all false: the announcement came on a MONDAY and we know that stuff only gets announced on a Thursday. You're not fooling me

Nop, none of these releases will be on a Box Set, individually everything.

 

I think its interesting that the so called "insiders" think that their information is even worth something. Frankly I am not really into leaked information and official announcements are way more exciting. In this particular case, I could care less about a new album and having the current reissues revisited in colored vinyl is much more interesting to me and I don't even collect colored vinyl. So insiders having opinions on what they think we want is even more useless than withholding the information. It's literally like a child saying "Na na na na na na na. I know something you don't know..." and the child doesn't even have the facts straight.

 

You sound jealous of them! I think it's great they're sharing the info they have (as much as they can) with us. Thanks @maccawings and @mikecarrera for making these threads (and anticipation really) way more exciting. Love to hear the bits of "inside info"!

Jealous? not sure how you got that out of it, more like nuisance... maybe I am not a big enough McCartney fan to understand the importance of such weight given to "someone knows something but can't share the information about Paul McCartney news"

In any case, I am excited about the vinyl because I don't have any McCartney vinyl and I already have the deluxe editions (which I hope they continue with since I have a little more shelf space for some nice big McCartney books)
I also didn't think his last few albums were all that memorable, so bring on the new vinyl!

 

I don’t have any of Paul’s archive vinyl (just CDs and deluxe), so the thought passed my mind that if these look good I may pick them up...but I also have no money, so that thought pass out of my mind quite quickly!

 

The Archive titles without the Archive Collection stuff. Boring. How about Flaming Pie, Driving Rain, Chaos, Memory etc - Paul's later year albums back on vinyl.
