:wave:Hey Guys.I personally can’t accept a song which has a lot of siblance, and also it’s not common in the songs nowadays, right? May I know your thoughts on the sibilance? Like how much will make you feel unacceptable? Can you give me an example?

Seriously now ;), yep, sibilance annoys me. I'm mostly a Classical music kind of guy and vocal Classical music can be a problem.

Half of the problem is caused by the recording itself, and half, I'm afraid to say, is caused by our hi-fi equipment

If it sounds like snakes discussing politics I can't abide. If it's more like summer lawns I can take it.

Can't say I have ever been annoyed by it. Are their any particularly bad offenders I might know as someone with a strong knowledge of especially 60s-70s rock/pop/soul/folk?

Honestly, I'm not even sure what people are using sibilance to mean anymore -- it's become a catch-all word that people seem to use to describe all kinds of things from the sound of phono cartridge mistracking to the sound of compressed cymbals, not just what it used to mean in the context of a recording: the character of the "s" and "sh" sounds of a singer's voice.

Of course different singers have sibilant characters. Mostly, especially with modern popular music where I think a love of aggressive de-essing is done as needed, and eq, I rarely notice any kind of sharp vocal sibilants. But, some singers do have sharp sibiliants -- Norah Jones, she has such a breathy, creamy style of singing, but her "esses" are really whistley, sharp and sibiliant. It was really noticeable on the record she did with Danger Mouse, so much so that I hadn't really noticed it previously, but after that album I couldn't help but notice it even on her prior albums. Whatever he and the engineers did on that records with mic choice or eq, they did a crummy job, basically highlighting the sharp edges of her sibilance. But honestly, that's the only record I can think of in the last two dozen years where I heard it something about sibilance really jumped out at me.

I think a lot of times people talk about records as somehow being "sibilant," though I don't see in terms of the meaning of the word, how a record could literally be sibilant. 99.9% of the time I think when people are talking about record sibilance, it's not a problem with the record -- they're hearing their record players mistracking, either because of stylus wear, poor alignment, a stylus profile that's not very fine, mechanical breakthrough of motor vibration up from the plinth and tonearm, improper VTF, or some -- or in part -- all of these causes. Mostly I think for people having those kinds of problems, the solution is better carts, better turntables, better tonearms and better set up.
