I've spoken to two in this lineup at the front Paul Rogers & at the back one of Nirvana.

He had the breeding. Would have been an interesting encounter for the queen. Speaking to a man with a slightly stoned copy of her eldest son's accent.

I've listened to Pink Moon and Five Leaves Left at least once a week since I first heard Nick Drake in the early 2000s. I don't think there is another human that could sit down with an acoustic guitar and make an album as compelling and timeless as Pink Moon. Maybe Robert Johnson.

I'm sure they both met the same fellow at the crossroads.

First got into Nick's music after a R2 Documentary narrated by Danny Thompson - the documentary that was "re-made" using Brad Prit a number of years later. I think it may have been called Fruit Tree. A friend of mine at work had been a fan in the very early seventies while at University and had an original Pink Moon on vinyl which he loaned to me so I could compare that to the original Island master CD that I had. The vinyl was certainly better. He also had the original box set of Fruit Tree with the 4 tracks from 1974 being added to Pink Moon.

However, rather than track down his albums on vinyl I have contented myself with the remastered CDs in card sleeves which I play often and the 3 compilations that offer something unique. I bought the standard issue of the Drake book and downloaded the Peel session. Would be nice for that to get a wider release one day but respect the wishes of the estate to do as they please.

I never bothered with Treasury but perhaps I should get it - doesn't that have a short piece at the end which is unique to that set?

I seen a young couple in a record store the other week, the guy was browsing through the racks /stacks of vinyl, his pretty girlfriend (wife) was sitting down bored. He was flicking through the "D" section and picked up a Nick Drake reissue. I had to comment the original goes for a pretty penny, he smiled back.
His girlfriend looked out the shop window it was raining.

When you don't look at the fonts and study the photography, you don't seem to notice it. :)

    I would happily buy a 45rpm 2LPs of
    Five Leaves Left.

'FARLEYS Rusks' had the same problem a few years ago.

Favourite Sound Techniques recordings are for Pink Moon.
Favourite Hampstead demos are the Bryter Layter ones on A day gone by
Favourite Far Leys recordings are spread across Family Tree and Clothes of Sand

To be honest, I wasn't sure if you'd cracked a joke or it was a spooky coincidence and Farleys genuinely had suffered logo kerning issues! :)

Thanks for instinctively taking my posts seriously, ;)
I did recently start a thread called "Strange Coincidences and Premonitions" with Nick's song 'Fruit Tree' as a very sad example, so it's not all fun and games with me.

Didn't Francoise Hardy's friend Brigette Bardot not have a hit with Farley Davidson? :)

I would have liked to be a fly on the wall summer 1970, Saint-Louis Paris in Francoise H flat with Nick Drake present staring into his tea. That's a movie in the making.
