    Hi
For some reason i have always ignored this album. I have now rediscovered it and i am really enjoying it. Is there any love for this album among forum members? What are your thoughts

Not my favourite Floyd album, but I rather like it - it most certainly is an Armstrongian step up from The Final Cut, if you ask me (and I guess you just did)...

I enjoyed it when it came out. Production is obviously dated in an 80s way. The latest BG vinyl softens it somewhat, which I like. However, it is lower tier Floyd. Some uninspired tracks...a bit shouty...possibly even DG said as such in retrospect.
I do like the atmospheric opener. The last track has grown on me over time too.

For me Final Cut is better...but I do enjoy Momentary Lapse these days...solid album

It is a bit "shouty" but a good album even at low volumes. The last track, Sorrow, is simply fantastic; just been listening to it

I agree. For me it has grown in stature over the years. It has a much more solid and inspired artistic vision than AMLOR.

    Quite underrated, I'd say.

The only time I saw Pink Floyd live was when they toured for this album, so it will always have a place for me. Not great, but solid.

I like it. Dated yes, but no problem with this. I'm more interested in knowing the best cd version...

I always liked it too. Nowhere near as good as The Final Cut of course (a personal favourite of mine), but more coherent than The Division Bell. Underrated.

Great album, unfairly bashed by some strong voiced Waters fans.

A good solid 80's album. Dated yes but for some reason it has a futuristic sound and quality to it.

A firm favourite with me. I’ll always play it in preference to The Wall, or The Final Cut, these days.

I've always liked, possibly their weakest for me (and no, I do not consider The Endless Intros a true album), but one I do have on a somewhat regular rotation.

As far as post Roger albums it's not as good as The Division Bell. Nick and Rick especially had much more input. It was a true group effort. But AMLOR still has it's good qualities. As someone mentioned it has a futuristic sound to it.
My biggest problem with it is in the production. It's a cold sterile sounding record. Not much warmth to it. But it's still has some good songs that take me back to when my wife and I had just met. We both were into it at the time.

Another way I view this album it was kind of like a Pink Floyd big 80's album. Production and 1980's synth style sounding keys. Regardless I like it.

When playing mine I usually reach for my old US over the UK or 2011.
My opinion this wasn't a good recording to begin with... So instead of 'best' --> 'favorite' may be a better descriptor
